I started my search for a roofing contractor during the pandemic and was universally unimpressed with the bulk of contractors who came to estimate the job. That is, prior to meeting Gabe and the folks at Top Notch. Not only are the competitively priced, but they send an actual roofing expert out for estimating, as opposed to a salesman. I immediately felt was in good hands as he answered all my questions with authority and knowledge. On the job site, the crew was clean, polite, and professional. We did have a few hiccups along the way, which as anyone who has ever done renovation can tell you, is par for the course. These specific hiccups were discontinued products and shipping damages that were simply accidents. Just bad luck that had nothing to do with Top Notch. But it was their reaction to the situation that really won me over. Gabe, the foreman, and Jessica went above and beyond to come to my house on multiple weekends to install skylights because that is the kind of business they operate."

"Black Ox installed a new roof on our addition (the larger section, on right), joining it to the existing roof. They did an excellent job. Great communication, installation was done quickly and efficiently. Crew was friendly, professional and cleaned up after themselves. We had a special request for fasteners that did not show through the exposed overhangs - Tom knew what to use in this situation, and the roof looks great! Very happy."

"David LaPlant came out and spent the better part of an hour with me, explaining in detail everything that was wrong with the existing shingles and everything that he would replace and what their process would be. When he left me with the quote there were no questions left unanswered and every eventuality had been covered. I was impressed by the amount of detail David went into and how thorough his explanation was. He was not in the least bit vague about any part of the job. David and his crew arrived on the day and at the time he said they would and we found the entire crew extremely polite and professional. I would add patient as well, seeing as they answered my questions about how and why things are done a certain way. Their ultimate goal was customer satisfaction and a job well done which showed in every detail of their work. They removed and re-installed our skylight and went the extra step by installing a new flashing which was missing from it. Our furnace flashing had been something we had wanted to replace for years but had never been able to find. David sourced a new one and his crew installed it at no extra cost to us. It is very seldom that you get something for nothing these days. It just went on to prove to me that here is a business owner more concerned with quality of service than how much they can financially gain from customers. At the end of each work day you could not tell a roof was being ripped off. I have yet to find a single nail or staple anywhere on the lawn, the gutters are spotless and not a scratch or mark on the siding. A big factor in our decision to use David LaPlant and AATEKINC for our roof replacement was his quality of product and LIFETIME work guarantee. "Barn Rescue – My barn was hit by a vehicle, which broke a large post and pushed section of siding out from under the roofline, plus major damage at ground level. Brad shored it up for the winter with an array of jacks and an enormous chain to ensure the thing wouldn’t fall down till they could return in the spring. Come spring, they fully replaced the damaged section’s support members and facade, and added bracing to the attic, rendering it stronger than before. Foundation support: The sagging beams and jerry-rigged support columns in the dirt basement of our 18th century house were inadequate. They dug and poured a dozen footings and lally columns, supporting a line of new 6x6 and 9x9 beams that provide solid support to the house above. They showed up promptly every day, worked fast, and left the site clean and finished. Both Brad and Chad have a deep knowledge about old houses and the techniques that were used, and I felt my historic register property was in good hands."
