"After meeting with several roofing companies in the area and two outside of the area, not one of them lived up to the repartition that was give. They all gave good information but not one when the total distance to get the job done. It only appeared that they were in it for themselves. I even had one company stating that they would not warranty the roof unless the entire roof was completed. Then I spoke with INSPECTOR ROOFING, set-up an appointment for an estimate on the back portion of the roof. Not only did they tell me that the roof being replaced would be warranted, but they think that they could get the entire roof replaced. They did exactly what they said they would do. INSPECTOR ROOFING submitted documentation for the approval to the insurance company to have the entire roof replaced. Sent a special team all the way from Atlanta and completed the job in one day. They started about 06:00 a.m. and to my surprise was done by 04:30 p.m. that evening. Upon completion they did a thorough job of cleaning up. Overall I would rate INSPECTOR ROOFING excellent in all categories: Price, Customer Service, warranty, integrity, and professionalism. They even came back within a week to address any smaller concerns, like tightening up gutters (Subcontractors), fixing screens, and double cleaning around pool area/yard in general. I’ve had an absolutely amazing experience with INSPECTOR ROOFING. They have amazing workers and absolutely fantastic professionalism from their entire team. Kudos to the entire crew, Mr. Gabriel Moorhead, Miss Lindsey Nasser, Mr. Kevin Riley, and Mr. Chris Nasser in finance. They were so good that three of my neighbors immediately sought after them to address their roofing concerns."

"Leigh, and her husband, were great. Though my install took a bit longer than expected, due to the high volume time in which we ordered our gutters, they made every effort to accommodate. They got everything installed prior to the hurricanes, and even knocked a few hundred bucks off for our troubles. I would definitely hire, or recommend, these professional and kind folks to anyone, anytime."

"We were extremely pleased with the service.  Robert Hardy came within 24 hours of request to give estimate.  Explained what needed to be done and why.  Workmen came within a week's time and replaced/repaired/painted damaged section of roof,  Restored area looks great as shingles and paint matched house perfectly.  Work area left clean.  Would definitely use again. <br />"

"Following days of torrential rainfalls, our roof started leaking again <br /> (we'd had repairs done over a year ago..NOT by Crosby).  We found Crosby <br /> Roofing in an online search and called and spoke with the congenial <br /> owner.  He told us originally it might be two weeks before they'd be <br /> able to fit me in (this rainy weather is good for their business but bad <br /> for us).  We scheduled an appointment for him to stop by and see the <br /> roof and discuss our options.  He arrived on time.  I emphasize this <br /> fact because he is one of the VERY few businessmen I've found that <br /> actually does what he promises.  He climbed the ladder to survey the <br /> situation and took lots of pictures to show us.  A simple patch job was <br /> NOT an option.  The original roofer had done a terrible job twelve years <br /> ago and our current shingles were basically sliding off the roof.  <br /> Richard gave us a price we could live with then gave us the really big <br /> bonus news that his crew was working on another job within walking <br /> distance of our home so they'd be able to do our roof within the next <br /> day or so.  He told us they'd be here between 7:30 and 8 AM and damned <br /> if they didn't actually arrive on time !  The crew was professional and <br /> efficient and worked until it was too dark to actually see...and they <br /> finished everything, including the cleanup.   Richard came by this <br /> morning to do a walk-around and to collect his fee.  I'm absolutely <br /> thrilled with him and his company.  I HIGHLY recommend this company. <br />"

"South Point Roofing & Construction did what they contracted to do, on schedule, and without hidden charges. As a homeowner, I have had (too) many experiences dealing with contractors who promise a project at a certain price and fail to deliver quality work or find every excuse to charge more for the work than they estimated. After having my roof replaced by South Point, I doubt I'll ever have such an experience again, because I will have them do ALL the work on my home in the future! If you need quality work done professionally, promptly, and for a fair price, South Point is your best option. My experience began by using their website to explain what I wanted done. I completed the on-line form and received a call from Christie the next business day. She confirmed the information I submitted and set up an appointment for Tucker Hawley to come look at the job. Tucker arrived and discussed what I wanted done and made suggestions for the project. He was extremely helpful and took time to explain how the project would progress from the estimate all the way through the process of collecting final payment. I expected him to send me an estimate by email after he took some measurements at the house, but he was far too efficient for that. He accurately measured the square footage of my roof using their drone in a matter of minutes. From there, he was able to produce a full materials list, allow my wife to select the shingles that would look best on our home, and schedule a time for work to begin. Within an hour, Tucker had a contract prepared, our deposit was paid, and the work was scheduled! Before leaving, Tucker explained the buildertrend App, which allowed me to access the schedule for my job, review all documents related to the work, and, most importantly, view photos of my home as work was completed. Right on schedule, the materials were delivered to my home. I received a notification on my phone and pictures of the shingles and other materials (including the invoice) on my phone through the App. The next morning, the construction crew was here and work began. Throughout the day, I continued to receive photos of their work. When problems were uncovered they would document the damage and the repair(s) done to correct the problem. This continued for the next two days until the rain came and delayed progress. As efficient as they had been everywhere else, I was frankly concerned they would be worried about getting to the next job while finishing my work with a skeleton crew. Instead, it seemed their effort redoubled. Schedule changes were updated on the App and Christie, Tucker, and Billy Hawley stayed in contact to keep me advised of what was going on. Unfortunately, counting on the original schedule, I had scheduled Dish to re-install the satellite dish on the new roof Thursday afternoon. (South Point could do this, but other work unrelated to the roof needed to be done by Dish too). When the Dish technician arrived the roof wasn't finished, but South Point's job supervisor worked with him to get my satellite dish reinstalled as they continued the work on the roof. When the work was done, all evidence they had been working seemed to disappear. No nails were left behind, trash was hauled away, and everything was clean. Aside from the beautiful new roof it was like they hadn't been here. I could not be happier with the appearance and quality of my new roof. Several friends saw the work as it was being done and commented on how great it looks. One of them who was in the construction business for several years commented favorably on the quality of the materials they were using and the work being done. I will unhesitatingly recommend South Point to all of my friends for any construction work that needs to be done, and they will be my first call for any work I need in the future."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Waynesboro, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
