"Absolutely unbelievable I feel so lucky to have come across this company. If you have a project and you don’t at least meet and talk with Mike you are doing yourself a disservice. Price, quality. Timing. Amazing. Do yourself a favor and at least give him a call. You will not regret it. I can guarantee you this."

"Truly one of the best experiences we have ever had with home handyman services. Scott came by and scoped out the job expertly and listening carefully to our needs. He is amazingly knowledgeable and offered wonderful suggestions about our overall needs as well as the specific job we contacted him about. His colleague, Matt, followed up and actually did the work. He is a remarkable technician, understanding exactly what we needed (in this case cabinet remodeling and replacement) and followed up ensuring that the work was precise and not only met our requirements but also ended up looing better than we had expected. He is meticulous in his work, but also highly sensitive to ensuring that everything he does leaves the area cleaner than when he began. He gave us excellent suggestions on other work we were exploring. Scott and Matt are really wonderful people. I followed up with Scott with questions, and he said we are his customer now -- feels like being part of his family!"

"He hired Tom Harrop to install kitchen cabinets and a heater under the kitchen sink, vinal flooring, plastering in a small area, add ceiling lighting and a shiplap ceiling. Once the work was done I asked Tom to do a walk through and he refused saying he stood behind his empoyees work. Here are the PROs and CONs. PROs: 1.) work was completed in a timely fashion 2) they did a beautiful job on the shiplap ceiling and lighting. CONs: 1) The brand new white cabinets had some nicks requiring paint touch up. 2) Terrible job on the floors! Uneven spots, lengths are uneven at the edges, gaps showing, no finish work. Terrible job!! 3) plastering looks like it wasn't even done! And there is some peeling of paint on the plaster job. Terrible job!!! 4) we were promised and paid for an under the kitchen sink heater which we never received. Called multiple times with no response. Lesson learned, will never use Tom Harrop again!!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Zach has done several projects for me at my home in Charlestown. He always arrived on time, was very professional, had excellent communication with me throughout the job or project, and the work completed was above a bound my expectations. He installed vinyl tile flooring in my half bath and my full bath, he has installed a new sink and garbage disposal, and new kitchen storm door. I also needed a major project completed in my basement which was creating a wall in my basement with a huge barn door as well as cutting into an existing wall to create a doorway. If you have any home projects no matter how big or small, Zach should be your #1 go to! I cannot recommend him enough. "

"Jason did a phenomenal job on the closet we needed installed. He was communicative, timely and efficient. We had a time crunch on the project and he was able to complete the closet to my exact specifications within the given date range while still maintaining great quality. He left the work area very clean after he was done. "

"Dennis upgraded my electrical panel and did an excellent job. The work was completed on time, everything was neat and professional, and the quality of the installation was top notch. He explained the process clearly and made sure everything was working perfectly before finishing. Best of all, the price was very reasonable for the quality of work provided. I highly recommend Dennis for any electrical work. ⚡🔧 ."

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in West Kingston, RI

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
