"Raphael and crew were very courteous and professional during the entire roof replacement job. From the estimate to the final cleanup, the job was excellent. The pricing was very fair this company repair the entire roof above, the rafters were replaced, soffit, fascia, and gutters installed. I am someone who makes sure of license, insurance, and checks on references, and Raphael and crew more than delivered. I would recommend AMJ Contractors for all your roofing services. Thanks!"

"I couldn't be more pleased with the outstanding service provided by J. Cwanger. From the very first call regarding a roof leak, their team was professional, responsive, and incredibly helpful. Their initial inspection and diagnosis were thorough, and they provided clear explanations of the necessary repairs. Throughout the process, communication was seamless, even with the added complexity of coordinating with my loan approval. I truly appreciated their patient and understanding approach, as they never pressured me for a sale and consistently kept me informed about scheduling. Once my loan was approved, J. Cwanger's team was on-site within days. The roof replacement was completed in a single day, a testament to their efficiency and skill. During the work, they identified and addressed unforeseen issues with the underlying plywood, demonstrating their commitment to thoroughness and quality. What truly impressed me was their follow-up after a significant rainstorm. The team proactively came to inspect the roof the next morning, ensuring everything was functioning as expected. This level of dedication and customer care is rare and greatly appreciated. J. Cwanger came highly recommended, and I now understand why. Their professionalism, efficiency, and commitment to customer satisfaction are truly exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend them for any roofing needs."

"Union Roofing came out because of an emergency leak. They were able to start right away on tearing down old roof and installed rubber roof. Frank was even willing to take a look at my main roof, cleaned it off and coated it. Frank and the crew are always on time and very professional. Union Roofing is always the first company I call for roofing problems."

"We had a 5" gutter and the guards were not affected because we have a large Maple tree.  The guy that came to do the work said that we needed a larger gutter due to the roof overhang.  He sold us a 6" heavier gauge metal.  In talking with other people, two other providers said that the gutters are larger and heavier than what we needed.  I feel like we didn't need these upgraded gutters that he sold to us.

He cleaned up very well.  We just didn't feel like this was a good cost for what we received."

Mid install picture! Notice how the panels are bracketed in and not drilled into the roof individually. This is a common misconception when going solar. This isn't the 2000-2010's anymore! The installation process is much more efficient. If a panel goes bad for whatever reason, since it is bracketed in, it can be easily replaced. This installation also is on a brand new roof that we installed ourselves as well. The panels themselves add extra life to your shingles/roof. The panels act like a sh

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Westville, NJ

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
