"English Lane is fantastic. No-nonsense... gets done what they say they will, on time, at or under the price they quote, and the results are beautiful. I'm willing to pay for that. I had another contractor quote half, charge me in the end double (and what EL had quoted originally), and get it done months later then they claimed. The other contractor also had that they would replace trees that died within one year of planting in the contract, and then later told me "they'd rather not" and I had to chase after them for months. I switched to English Lane thereafter for maintenance and updates, and then did our backyard with English Lane. English Lane replaces trees that look like they won't make it without even asking, and made a set of flowers free that came later than expected. I can't express enough the awful experience with the other contractor, and how much I appreciated and became willing to pay for "no b*******" and "telling it as it is." Not only will I never go back to that other contractor, I will only going forward use English Lane."

"Cullen was able to turn the mess which was left from a previous contractor into a beautiful backyard. He was responsive to our questions. His crew was great! They got the work done timely and the results were awesome! We will definitely use Cullen and his team in the future for any landscaping needs."

"The crew worked on our driveway in late July, early August. We’re very dissatisfied on how the job turned out. They cut out the bad section on 30 July and filled it with some sort of gravelly cold patch. The crew came back about a week later and sealed the driveway Problems: They DID NOT seal the gravelly patch area.........actually, they did seal a small portion of it, but that portion cracked within a few days Leads me to believe sealing any of it was a mistake as they must have KNOWN any part of the patch sealed would crack, but, of course, that leaves the driveway unfinished Highly related problem: The patch still has not totally dried, I can still push in on it with my thumb - and the situation is not getting better Hard to see how this job to be anything but a failure - ie, a waste of $3,600 Sign Grace Betts"

I would definitely hire him again, as this is the second project he has done for us. He replaced the driveway at our previous home with the same stellar results."

"Original date to start job was 11/13/24. 11/20/24 I texted and asked what happened. He said he would start the job on Monday, 12/2/24. 12/9/24 got an email that he would be coming the next day, 12/10/24. Then, he received an email that it was too cold to install rails, and he would come on 12/24/24. Rails were installed, and Dominic stressed he needed to receive the balance of the invoice. I asked him when he would remove the boulder. He had to get back to me. 2/21/25 Dominic said he would come the first week in March 2025 to remove the boulder. I contacted Dominic again via text on 4/1/25, got a message on 4/2/25 that Dominic would come next week to remove the boulder. Got a message 4/10/25 that Dominic would come the following week to remove. At some point after this, when it was not done, I spoke with Dominic, and he proceeded to talk over me and said he was not going to remove the boulder."

"Pete and his crew initially started our project of concrete around the pool with retaining wall and patio concrete slab 9/2021. Few issues that arose no fault of Pete, was the slide dimension and walkway needed to clear the solar cover was inaccurate and not enough concrete was poured for both of them. That was the fault of the pool company for giving inaccurate measurements to Pete. Pete stated he would correct this problem and add more concrete so the slide could be anchored onto the concrete and add more concrete to allow a walkway on the side of the pool. Another issue that Pete was notified right away was the retaining wall was not high enough and runoff/rain water was flowing over the top of the retaining wall and through the retaining wall causing muddy water to encroach into the pool area. He initially stated that once landscaping was complete it would fix this. However that was not the case. He was again notified and he promised to raise the retaining wall to correct this problem, yet he never showed up and continued to ignore our calls. Third issue was the concrete lining the pool already started to crack off and was found at the bottom of the pool. Fourth issue was the top blocks of the retaining wall were damaged. Several portions of the retaining wall were carved into and did not appear to be brand new. He promised he would replace these with new. Yet, he never showed back up. Fifth issue, the concrete patio cracked within several months. Sixth issue, the additional concrete was never sealed and is also now cracked. To attempt to correct the the first issue, He staked the project out 10/12/21 completed around 10/25/21. His crew was using a stamp for the concrete and the stamp for the new concrete was off-centered causing the concrete to be noticeably abnormal. When he was notified of this eyesore, he actually stated he realized this mistake… didn’t feel the need to tell us though. He promised us he would correct this by removing the concrete and pouring new. He would tell us on a weekly basis that he was coming to correct this problem and then he would never show up. We would call him and text him and he wouldn’t answer or reply. We have all encounters documented for proof. December 2021 came around and he stated due to poor weather conditions, we would be the first customer of 2022 and that we were “on the books!” Spring 2022 came around and he would continue to lead us on and telling us that he will be there on specific days and then again he wouldn’t answer his phone or texts. He kept ghosting us and texting us what we wanted to hear… it is now 1 year later and it’s still not fixed. He continues to screen our phone calls and rarely answers. Due to this delay, we were unable to complete this project until all these issues are corrected. We are awaiting to complete landscaping and install fend around property until this has been corrected. We would highly suggest thinking twice before you agree to have this company perform work at your house. We are shocked by their unprofessionalism, lack of respect and lack of pride in their work. Their slogan is that they stand behind their work; however clearly this is not true. Hopefully, I am able to post photos to prove the extent of our situation."

"We had our basement waterproofed by Baker's. It's been bone-dry since. We did have one piece of equipment fail within a month of the installation, but it was a third party dehumidifier that was just a dud I guess, no fault of Baker's. I texted the project manager about it on a Sunday. I expected a response the following week. He got back to me within the hour. The equipment was removed and replaced within a couple days. Everything great since. I would highly recommend Baker's, but specifically our project manager Nathan Goddard and the head guy on site Daylan. Can't remember his last name, but he's got a long beard and did a great job. Thanks to both of them and the rest of the guys."
