"AQI did a great job on installing my new windows. I received a number of quotes before choosing AQI and they provided a very high quality product at a very fair price. Has one little issue with a window that broke during installation but this was quickly taken care of. Would highly recommend Tim and his crew."

"<p>I called Tradition to get an estimate to repair my damaged roof.  Brent Fuller the owner promptly returned my call and came by to look at my roof.  He showed me several areas of wind damage and agreed to give me a estimates to replace the roof on my house and out building. He indicated that I had wind damage and recommended that I contact my insurance company and agreed to meet with the adjuster. He and the adjuster inspected the roof and worked on the claim details, so I didn't even have to work with the insurance company  Within a week I received a report from the adjuster and a claim settlement from my insurance company.  I had previously received quotes from several other roofing companies and Tradition's quote was in line with the others.  Tradition's quote included premium materials, shingles hand nailed with 6 nails each, lead flashings, new ridge vents, proper starter shingles etc.  I also received a 7 year workmanship warranty and a lifetime shingle warranty.  They even installed a weathervane for me.</p> <p>The project was scheduled within a week.  The impressive crew of 6 or 7 arrived as scheduled and completed the project in two days.  They were very meticulous in removing all of the debris from the old roof and in picking up the nails from around the house.  They also protected my pool, bushes, and plants from the debris and swept for nails with a magnetic broom at least five times. The men worked very hard, didn't spend time on cell phones, did not smoke on the premises and left everything very neat and tidy.  The workmanship on the roof is astounding.  After the crew was finished the foreman came back the next day and swept again for mails and picked up any remaining small pieces of debris.  Brent came by a day or two later with another man who went up and inspected the workmanship and completeness of the job while Brent again swept for nails.  The following week the insurance adjuster came by and did a final inspection and indicated that the job was complete and well done. </p> <p>Communication with Brent via email and telephone through all of  was outstanding, quick responses to all my nit picking questions, and he did what he said he would do when he said he would do it.   My expectations were fully met. </p> <br />"

"The work was started and completed on the same day.  The workers were extremely nice and kept everything moving at a steady pace.  A couple of days following completion of the job, there was a lot of rain and a leak in the roof.  I called to report the problem, they came back immediately (in the rain) and reported to me they had failed to put the proper glue (or whatever they use) around one of the gutters on the roof.  They apologized for the problem and within a day or so, sent someone to do a minor repair on a ceiling that was damaged. <br /> I was very pleased with the group, and the fact that they didn't hesitate to take responsibility for a problem that was theirs, and not mine.  <br /> They were very nice people and I would definitely use them again.  I can't really say they were the lowest priced roofers around, but they used the best product and the right amount of nails (not staples) per shingle.  That's important too.  They are definitely not just a group who flies through town with no responsibility.  By the way, this was hurricane damage.  <br />"

"I have already recommended them to a lot of people. The damage was in April, and the insurance company came out with an inspector came out and they said half. Holden roofing came out and they said there is no way they could take pictures of the whole damage. They sent out another inspector, the inspector said half. Holden came back out and said there is no way to look at these pictures. <br /> <br /> So the insurance company sent an engineer and he did a thorough inspection and said the first two inspectors were wrong and there was no damage at all. Holden roofing came back again, and spent all this extra time and they went up there and took pictures of all the details, circled and signed, and submitted all that. And because of the detail the insurance company said we usually ask for more information but because of the detailed pictures and information that Holden Roofing sent, we are going to overturn our own people including the engineer and give you full coverage for the roof. Remember, this started in April, and they continued on till November. They could have said "you know what, you're not worth it and we're gonna move on to other people.  <br /> <br /> They did all that in April, coming back out several times, and fighting with them at no cost. And nor was it charged later on to the cost of the roof. To me it seemed just part of the service.  <br /> <br /> For full disclosure, after everything was done and I even wrote a letter about how pleased I was and blown away by it, they asked if I could do a commercial for them. So then later on, a month later or so, I went over to film and they asked me basically the same things. And they said we will use this for customer satisfaction for the conclusion of a good deal, and then they sent me a card later thanking me with a $25 Starbucks card.  <br /> <br /> I wanted to disclose all that, I don't want anyone thinking they paid me for this. I would have done it for free, I didn't charge them anything, they just sent me the card later for the footage. They said the commercial would be attached to their website.  <br />"

"Two other houses on the block have the same design of metal roof and people really like it. They prefabricated all the metal so that he had everything right in place and made sure that everything was done in half a day and that was completely amazing. The reason why I went with doing metal roof was because it was fashionable and it was a faded color so it wasn't so bright or shiny. I would rate them high overall and would use them again in the future."

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"He gave me some good advice to help me avoid jumping into something unnecessarily. I appreciated his integrity and professionalism. He gave me some good references for other non-roofing service providers that I might need and said that I could call him with any further roofing questions."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Wharton, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
