"Jeff showed up on time and did his work professionally. He recommended replacing 4 vent covers due to splitting or rotting and gave me an estimate for that. He was gentlemanly and well-informed, didn't try to upsell things that weren't needed. I was aware of the deteriorating vent flanges because I had recently had my chimney cover replaced and the pro who did that notified me of their condition. I felt like Mighty Hands did what they were contracted to do in a way that made me confident of their work."

"I ordered 10 windows on 4/15 and then 3 additional windows around the middle of May. I received a call last week to tell me it will be apx. 3 weeks before they will install due to me ordering the other 3 windows. To date I have not had any of the windows installed, so I will have to hold my opinion. I will let you know when I have new windows.

Having received the windows and having them installed, I must say they are not exactly what I pictured.  I still have condensation form on the windows on humid mornings when the AC has run during the night.  I thought triple pane windows would not do this.  The people that installed it were nice, but extremely slow.  It took two days to finish the install and wrap the windows..  The crew that came out a few weeks later (to redo some of the insulating strips at the bottom of the windows) was fast and efficient and also very nice.  I mentioned to them that the top window would slide down anytime I opened the bottom windows.  The lead man told me he would order the parts and when he received them, he would contact me and he would add the needed assembly pieces.  I am still waiting on those parts to be received and installed.

As a follow up...the owner of the company contacted me and explained that the original people I had dealt with at my home were no longer employed and that some things got "looked over" for some of their customers.  He assured me things would be fixed and I have an appointment with him within the next week to go over what needs to be fixed.  I''ll update again as the situation goes forward.  I did go ahead and update my scores, just because of the phone calls and apologies from the owner of the company.

Owner came out and fixed the windows.  The problem I had was in the adjustments of the window and not the windows.  He made some adjustments and now the windows work perfectly.  I was so happy with the end result that I have hired him to install two new outside doors.  That work is scheduled for a few weeks out, but I know he will follow up to be sure they are installed correctly."

"The finished 12' x 12' Sunroom is excellent and good quality. There were months of delays, even during construction. But it was winter time, so we were in no rush. Rich Carbone went above and beyond and installed a security light at no extra charge because of the delays. The only complaint I have is after 4 or 5 phone calls, I am still waiting for them to pick up a pile of scrap metal and an inspectors box that was left here from over two months ago. Despite the aforementioned complaint, I would still recommend. Just don't pay in full until all the trash is gone and the job is complete."

FAQs for metal awning or patio cover installation and replacement projects in Wilmington, NC

Yes, you can paint your metal awning using oil-based paints to give it a fresh new look and protect it from corrosion. Oil-based paints are durable and help preserve the awning's structural integrity. Keep in mind that painting an aluminum awning costs $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot. Be sure to hire a painter who specializes in awning painting to get the best results.

Metal awnings are incredibly durable and offer excellent protection against the elements for your home. They resist sun, rain, and snow, keeping your space safe and comfortable. Stainless steel and copper awnings provide outstanding longevity and structural integrity, while aluminum awnings are more affordable without sacrificing performance. Plus, their sturdy construction can improve energy efficiency and boost your home's curb appeal.

While metal awnings are durable, they can be more expensive than other types, so they might not be ideal if you're on a tight budget. They also offer fewer customization options compared to fabric awnings, so you might have limited choices in style or color. Additionally, metal awnings are fixed in place and harder to adjust, so you won't be able to raise or lower them easily based on the weather.

Yes, metal awnings can increase your home's value by enhancing its curb appeal and providing more usable outdoor space. Their sturdy design not only improves the look of your home but can also contribute to energy savings. If you opt for motorized awnings, they add a touch of sophistication that can be especially appealing to potential buyers when you're ready to sell.

Metal awnings can last 20 to 30 years with proper maintenance. To keep them in good shape, regularly clean them with a vinegar and water solution a few times each season to prevent buildup and corrosion. If your awning has electronic components, be sure to service them routinely. Taking care of any damage promptly will help your awning perform its best and extend its lifespan.
