Small jobs welcome

"Mike was professional from the start. He responded to my question effectively and I decided to hire him to install a bathroom fan that also needed to be invented outside my house. He showed up at my house at the time we designated and kept me updated with texts and photos as he proceeded with the work. Couldn’t be happier. "

"I posted on the Woburn Facebook page on March 25 asking about a questionable hole in my siding with wires to my water meter. I didn't know Joe Gore (master electrician) before this but he graciously offered to seal it free of charge. I took him up on it and also asked him for a quote to have 3 outlets installed. Not only was the quote reasonable, he was also professional, kind, communicative, honest, accommodating, easy to schedule and punctual. Today (April 2), he installed the 3 outlets. People should know that he's a great community member and great electrician. I will definitely hire him for future needs. You should too! Thanks, Joe!"

"Fantastic job by an experienced pro. Handled multiple projects fast and efficiently for a reasonable price with no issues. Pointed out a potential problem I hadn't considered, and then solved it quickly with an inexpensive solution. Highly recommended, and will definitely hire again."

"We hired PW DiMasi to install receded lighting in an upstairs office and could not be happier with the results. Peter, the owner, was prompt in scheduling a time to provide a project estimate and quoted us a fair price. He also showed up on the day of the project to introduce the two electricians that would be doing the work. The team was courteous, professional, and did a great job installing the lights. They also were careful to cover the room with tarps to minimize dust and cleaned up the workspace afterwards. If we have a future need for an electrician, PW DiMasi will be our first call."

"Recently, I had a three unit heating and hot water upgrade. During the install, it was determined that the electrical wiring was out of code and some of the wiring had been done incorrectly. Carmen and his team came to the rescue. Carmen knew exactly what needed to be done and went to work immediately to fix the issues. He and his team were polite, knowledgeable and professional. He explained what needed to be done and answered all my questions. Who could ask for anything more? I feel good and safe about the work that was done. The honesty and earnestness that was shown and given has earned my trust. I will call on Carmen and his company for any future electrical services. Thanks guys!"

"He did a fine job for what I wanted, ran 2 lines with receptacles. He was on time, did the work and completed it in 4 hours. Cleaned and had everything up and running in no time. I will definitely do business with him again. (B. Findlay)"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Winchester, MA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
