"We had exterior lighting installed by Lewis several years ago. He did a wonderful job walking us through the options and installing the lights. When we needed later help with service due to a lawn worker accidentally damaging a line, he came out and fixed it quickly. We are very happy with the results!"

"I haven't got my gift card yet. I haven't completely set up the system yet. My wife and I had to go out of town and I had it set up for the most vulnerable places.  <br /> <br /> I thought the gift card was supposed to be here within 30 days. The house was flooded in Aug. I didn't realize I couldn't set it up, the first part of the house we did after the flood was the den. But we bought a lot of our stuff and kept it in the den because we could only get a small storage bin. 20000 people looking for storage space, there weren't any left. Most of the stuff I have was stored in the den and it has 8 windows, so the windows where the system was going was in the den.  <br /> <br /> Now the motion detector and security system has been set up except for a few window magnets. The alarm is working fine and working correctly.  <br /> <br /> Any problem I had I called customer support and they walked me thru the steps. It was a great price for a home security system. Then for $37 a month, you spend that much on beer for a weekend. I have nothing to complain about so far. It appears to be top notch. The software updated as soon as I turned it on. It was pretty easy and I think anybody would be able to set it up. I activated it and the tech support was great. They were very polite and cordial on the phone.  <br /> <br /> Very professional. It's a fair price for a fair deal. As far as I am concerned it is a great product and the tech support was great. There isn't any place else you can get this good of a security system for this price.  <br /> <br />"

"I was not impressed. First day they didn't show up at all. At least the second day they said they'd come they did, but an hour late. They replaced the main line but did nothing for the cables damaged by the fire. Came back a second time, were rude and condensending to me, before the inspector showed up put down all inspectors. Made the repairs to the lines that were damaged except the 220 lines. Except this work failed inspection as they didn't ground the junction boxes that were installed. So they had to come back AGAIN to complete the work. And again the workers were condenscending and let it be known they felt they were wasting their time."

". I originally wrote a disparaging review of Chesapeake Landscape and Design due to non-responsiveness and follow-up on appointment for an estimate. I was subsequently contacted by Bell Hartnack and it was explained that the person I was dealing with had a serious health issue and was hospitalized and they apologized for not following up. I was subsequently put in touch with the same person as before, who had recovered from the health episode. We scheduled another appointment for an estimate, which was accomplished in a timely manner.  The quoted cost was reasonable and we signed a contract. They scheduled the work at my convenience and it was performed very well and in a timely manner. <br /> Kudos to Bell Hartnack and Chuck Slater for their friendly, courteous and professional service and reponsiveness. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work and the look of the area."

"Bought a house from a couple who either hired very bad electricians, or did their own electrical work. Either option was the wrong one. Luckily we had a very good home inspector and none of the following was a surprise to us. Through a few visits we've had Magothy, specifically, Rodney; 1. replace the wiring in our attic - all the lights and fans were daisy-chained through one circuit - it's no longer a fire hazard 2. rework the main panel that had shared neutrals, one of which was arcing in the box; 3. correctly install a light over the garage (badly installed light had evidence of burning on the wood below); 4. install a 4-prong outlet for a dryer; 5. add a whole-house circuit protector on the electric panel; 6. remove a badly installed 220v outlet that was also daisy chained through the attic lights. We have been impressed with the quality of work, and though I could do a few of the items above myself, given the issues we've already found, I will leave the work to the professionals. On the one occasion we've had a concern after the work completed (ceiling fan no longer operating after attic rewire) Rodney was back out the next day to fix the issue. On the first visit, Rodney came with all the paperwork for Magothy - license, insurance, bond information. On every visit we go through the work, receive the estimate prior to work beginning. Rodney and his assistants/coworkers (Braden and a newly hired electrician who's name I forgot) are on time, professional and personable. As are the office staff. I most often speak with Becky and yes we've had to talk so often that we're on first name basis. After our first visit, we signed up with Magothy for the service plan, and I do not regret this decision. Our next step is the whole house audit, and a plan of action to fix the rest of the problems we know are here."

"I chose A&S over other bidders for this project because their very kndgeable expert Hart Berkowitz had all the answers allowing me to make the right choices for this project, and offered a very competitive price. As planned, most work was done in the late fall, and the final finish was applied just before we filled the pool for the 2020 summer season. The last punch-list items were completed on time -- but just, a few hours before our grandchildren arrived for the Memorial Day holiday. The process could have been smoother, however. All major work -- demolition and sandblasting, installation of new coping and tile, and the final application of a plaster finish to the interior -- was done by subcontractors without an A&S representative present. Communicating in English with these subs was difficult to impossible. The tiling sub also carelessly left much excess mortar to harden in lumps, interfering with the installation of new decking. My deck contractor charged me $500 extra for the hours it took to clean up the mess, which would have taken the subcontractor only a few minutes to clean up had he done it when the mortar was still wet. I also was often left in the dark about when work was going to be scheduled. Calls and messages to the A&S scheduler wouldn't be returned for days. A simple "I'll know more in a few days" would have been better than silence. I also wish I had been fully aware of how messy it is to sandblast the old finish off the pool interior. The sandblasting contractor took pains to clean up the worst of the grit from the adjacent deck area, but fine dust and grit also landed on porch furniture 15 feet away and inside a screen porch. I was hosing and cleaning for hours, which I could have avoided if I had covered all my outdoor stuff with disposable plastic sheeting. In the end, it was all worth the effort. We get many compliments on the pool, which is lovely and now looks ready for another 30 years."
