"I recently had my shingle roof replaced and I?m very happy with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of the work is excellent, and the new roof looks great. They kept the work area clean and communicated well throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement."

"We highly recommend Josh & Jacob and the rest of the Independent Mechanical team! They did a great job installing central AC into our home. The work was completed on time, despite the grueling July heat they encountered in our attic. They were very neat and respectful of our property and the cost was reasonable. It was a very good experience!"

"I have been helping my elderly parents who live in Milford. They had numerous plumbing problems that had not been addressed over many years. I called A-Team Plumbing and they amazed me!! They were friendly, quick to respond, and they did an EXCELLENT job. In the second floor bathroom, they discovered the problem was old iron drain pipe clogged by corrosion. They carefully removed the floor and installed PVC replacing the old pipe. Price was very reasonable. They then installed a new toilet in the half-bathroom on the first floor, replaced the galvanized pipes under the kitchen floor, and tied the deep sink in the laundry room into the sewer (previously draining into a dry well). The crew was friendly, polite, and VERY hard workers. They are the only plumbers I would hire. Excellent job A-Team!"

"Tom and his team helped me out with a fairly small job as part of a bathroom renovation. They did a professional job and were prompt. I was pleased they were able to do the job on my schedule and at a reasonable price. I plan on hiring them again for the next project."

"I had an inaccessible leak in a 3rd floor bathroom that was trickling down to the 2nd floor ceiling and into my basement. I was able to locate the source of the leak inside a wall on the 3rd floor, but the piping was too far in and could not be reached. I gave Dave a call on Saturday afternoon and he agreed to meet me on Sunday morning. <br /> When he arrived, he was confident that he could reach the leak through the ceiling on the 2nd floor. After taking some measurements upstairs, he pinpointed it to the ceiling of a hallway closet on the 2nd floor. After cutting through the ceiling, he was able to access the leak. He cut away the original metal pipe and replaced it with new fittings and PVC. He finished in 4 hours and his price was very fair for a Sunday. <br /> I would highly recommend Dave to anyone. He completed the job quickly with minimal damage, and all I have to do is cover the opening with an access panel in case I ever need to access the tricky area again. He is a meticulous guy and takes his job very seriously."

"The many outstanding reviews that Clean Water Man Inc has received can easily be attributed to the honesty, integrity and professionalism of the company's owner Ted Mullen. If, like me, you research the many different manufacturers of water softening systems, you'll read so many varied opinions and claims on what are the best systems that it becomes both confusing and troubling as to which system to purchase. Ted cuts through all the hype without disparaging any competitor. He explains the product and function in simple, logical and practical terms, and without attempting to give himself any advantage. In the final analysis, the advantage is actually dealing with Ted. It's still early in the game, but Ted installed what thus far has been a 1st class system, including a code required dry well, for the same or lower price than what several other prominent companies were asking just for the water softening system."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Woodbridge, CT

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
