Design Wood Floors, located in Blackstone Massachusetts, is dedicated to the fine art of designing and building unique wood floors. Founded in 1982 by John DiPonzio, Design Wood Floors continues to find ways to please our ever expanding customer base. We generally work in the Metropolitan Boston and South Shore areas, though we have been called to do many interesting projects from the Keys, to Nantucket to Nova Scotia. Our home is a 1910 Craftsman with a mix of original southern pine floors and relatively newer (20 year old) oak hardwood planking. All of the flooring was in dire need of refinishing. John and his crew did an amazing job restoring and refinishing our flooring. The attention to detail was impressive, and they even tackled things we didn't expect, like attaching some of our molding that had come unglued (in the past) back to our walls. We felt completely comfortable entrusting all of the details to Design Wood Floors and simply went on vacation, returning a week later to the hardwood floors of our dreams. I called the office on a Thursday and he was able to come out the following Tuesday, which was significantly quicker than anywhere else we called (if they even answered the phone, because most didn’t). Derek is very communicative, easy to work with and transparent about materials and cost. He was super friendly, always on time, and sent updates with pictures about how the job was going. He looked at other places around the house as well, that might need repairs first, as we were looking to paint the house later this summer.
