"i was looking to replace a 35 year old driveway, Mardan Cement was recommended to me. I called and left a message to please contact me. Within a few hours i had a call back from Dan (owner) of the company. We set up appointment for him to come out and look over the project. He did a full measurement and gave me on the spot proposal. I had contacted 3 other companies, 1 was a no show, 1 was super high, and the last I had to call 3/4 times to ask for the quote. He told me he was bad at getting quotes out. needless to say Mardan got the job. On Saturday 7/22 received a call from Dan that they would like to start the job on Monday 7/24 around 11:30. True to his word the trucks, equipment and man power showed up. A good portion of the service walk way and old drive way were removed by 4:00pm. Tuesday the remainder for the driveway was gone, forms were in place and the gravel base were in place for inspection. The crew showed up at 7:30 Wednesday and the first load of cement followed around 8:00. By 3:30 that day we had a completed job. I only recommend people and companies that I know like and trust. So if your looking for a honest contractor look no further, Dan is the man. 216-524-7252"

"Koontz replaced an approximate 40 square foot section of my front walk. I was not home nor did I hire them. My 73 year old mother hired them. They charged her $3100 dollars for that small section of concrete. I am absolutely appalled..."

"The salesperson David was very honest and had no interest in upselling. He strongly advised against any interior drains for my basement, and he instead recommended an exterior drain called HydroBlox for my backyard. The estimate for the HydroBlox was $3,400. The installation occurred a few weeks later. Three employees used a machine to dig a trench in my backyard, and then because of utility lines, they hand-dug another trench in my side yard. They installed the pieces of HydroBlox and covered them with dirt. I expect the HydroBlox to properly drain the water from my yard, but if they do not, then I will update my review in the future."

"Terrible and dishonest. Promised work that was never done. Will not return phone calls about giving a refund. The owner is a scam artist offering services he never intends to follow through with. We paid them $12,400 to do a big drainage job in our yard in November 2025. For 5 months they have avoided us and refused to return email inquiries and phone messages about when they would start. We thought it was strange when the business changed their name from Drain My Yard to Turf Trimmers shortly after we paid them in full upfront to do the work. We were told if we paid upfront the cost of the estimate would be reduced 5%. My husband is 81 years old and thought he was dealing in good faith with this business. They are not taking any calls. The store front on Barlow Rd is closed. I believe they may have gone out of business without giving us a refund. Clearly the owner, Bob Aber, preys upon elderly people and takes advantage of them. How can he live with himself after stealing money??"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Ashtabula, OH

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
