"Everyone was great! I think I will use them for plumbing and electrical work because they were so professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and and were overall wonderful. They cleaned up after completing the work and they even noticed my sump pump wasnâ  t working so replaced it. I usually spend months researching all local companies before I hire, but I didnâ  t have the time. Now I am looking into costs with other companies to make sure the work was in the same cost range because it was much higher than what HomeAdvisor average costs states for this work."

"After a slow start where we all learned about the inevitable application of Murphy's Law, everything went well....but only because Mike Papa and the folks at ASAP Plumbing CHOSE to make things right. There was initial confusion and/or lack of communication over pricing and the toilet to be installed, but this was all worked out professionally, courteously & in a timely manner. My tech, Mike, coordinated with this boss to retrieve a proper toilet, adjust the price (twice) and ultimately install an UPGRADED toilet to make up for my troubles. Indeed, at the end of the day, I was completely satisfied and I believe ASAP Plumbing may have even lost money on the deal...so I believe customer satisfaction and "making things right" was more important to them than pure profit. For all this, I am fully willing to overlook all initial frustration and provide this glowing review."

"Pete and his team were very professional throughout our kitchen remodeling project. Pete helped us pick out the cabinets, countertop, fixtures, flooring, and tile, and he made sure everything stayed within budget. He was accommodating to all our requests and concerns. Pete and his team arrived promptly every day of reno work, cleaned up all debris, and protected my house's furniture and new appliances from damage. Most importantly, he was always accessible, answering EVERY email, phone call, and text almost immediately. Renovation projects are stressful enough (we knocked down a wall into the dining room, resized a window and completed it with matching exterior vinyl siding and capping, replaced the floor and subfloor in 2 rooms, cut new trim, repaired drywall, changed the color and decor, added new plumbing, electricity and lights, and increased 7 feet of cabinet/countertop/backsplash space to 18 feet!), but Pete and the crew did their best to alleviate all our stress. The kitchen was totally transformed, and we and all our friends and family love the results. Very satisfied!"

"<p>Dave came the next day as promised and replaced the expansion tank, relief valve, 2 air vents, back flow fill valve and a couple of other parts. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <p>Dave originally installed this boiler about 10 years ago and it has performed fine all these years.</p> <p>He also installed a new air condition system about 5 years ago. I asked about including a hot air  heating system as a back-up  to my primary radient and baseboard heat and he investigated that and found that it would work. I now have the security of having  back-up heat if one system should fail in the middle of winter.</p> <p>Dave always keeps appointments as scheduled and gives accurate estimates. He works carefully and leaves the work area in perfect condition.</p> <br />"

"I woke up to the sound of sewage overflowing in my basement. My usual plumber wasn't available and I was panicking, so I just started calling around. Best Choice was the only company who picked up the phone. They said they'd be able to get someone out to me within 2 hours, which they did, and they gave me a call when the plumber was on his way. He looked around my basement and answered all my questions, but he couldn't deal with the clog himself. The price to clear the line was $350 flat. They sent a second round of guys out who showed up on time and it was an easy fix. There were no tree roots or broken pipes - apparently it was a and quot;softand quot; clog. I'm grateful that they were able to come out as quickly as they did, but $350 for what ultimately was an uncomplicated cleaning seems like a lot, but I've also never had to pay for this service before so what do I know. If I was paying an emergency fee, they didn't tell me I was. <br /> <br /> The plumbers who came out could've been a bit more professional. They wanted to just barrel in and seemed surprised that I wanted to shake hands and exchange names. The first one who came to assess the problem spoke to the secretary on the phone in front of me, repeating how much the fee was (seemed fishy) and that he just wanted to get paid and go home. He told me later that he doesn't like to deal with clogs, just basic tasks like changing faucets. Maybe he was contracted out?"

"The Sheridans did an assessment and came back with two potential options that made sense and Mr. Sheridan spent a generous portion of his time explaining the pros and cons of both while suggesting what he thought was the best option for me. He suggested we go with one powerful humidifier for the whole house versus trying to replace both humidifiers (1 for each furnace). While it wasn’t the cheapest job, it was obvious that he saved us a lot of money through his honesty (having us buy one humidifier) and experience. He also fit us in his schedule the very next morning! It has been almost 3 weeks and we are extremely pleased. It’s nice to have a quality service provider with very reasonable rates that you can fully trust."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Atlantic City, NJ

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
