"These guys are extremely professional, serious about customer service and do great quality work. I had them redo the entire exterior of my home; strip the roof and siding down the bare sheathing, new roof, new siding, new gutters and repair all the fascia. They stripped 3 layers of old roof off and replaced it then stripped half the siding off the house in the first DAY they were there. Everyone in the neighborhood was asking who these guys were and what their phone number was they were so impressed. There were a couple little things here and there that needed to be tweaked and cleaned up since it was such a big job and so much was changed. Every time I reached out to them I got a response back in less than 12 hours and someone was there fixing it within a day or two. They’re incredibly courteous, polite and value their customers. Hire these guys."

"I strongly advise against using Greater Boston Roofing (GBR). During a roofing project associated with a solar panel installation, GBR caused significant water damage to my home due to poor flashing on the side of the roof. While the solar panel company did cause separate damage to a different part of the roof, the issues caused by GBR were entirely unrelated and resulted from their own subpar workmanship. After multiple attempts to get them to address the problem, GBR finally visited and acknowledged the flashing was inadequate. They returned to fix it, but they failed to repair the extensive damage their poor workmanship caused, including water stains, ceiling cracks, and rotted sheathing (plywood and 2x4 supports) hidden beneath spray foam insulation. This damage only became apparent later when the house developed a severe mold smell. Rather than take responsibility, GBR repeatedly shifted blame onto the solar panel company, despite clear evidence of their own mistakes. Communication was atrocious—it took over a year of constant effort and countless hours to get them to inspect the damage. Although they admitted face-to-face that the issues were their fault (and fixing the roof above the damage), they later sent me a letter denying any responsibility for the damage it caused. This company cannot be trusted to stand behind their work or treat their customers with integrity. If you value quality and accountability, I strongly recommend choosing another contractor."

"Sorry, this will take awhile to read. I am not a happy customer. I guess the job was subcontracted to Melani Construction, Inc. The job started a day late (after I took the day off from work) because the van assigned to my job "broke down". The materials were delivered on the day the job was supposed to start, 11/10/2020, which, to me, should have been delivered the day before the job is to start. I was told by Chris that it is a two day job. It turned into a week with a couple days of rain and having to clean up the mess afterwards. I had the top roof shingled and had an "L" shape lower rubber roof replaced. This will take too long to write out so I will just make a list of what the roofers messed up on. 1. They were a day late. 2. Top roof seemed to go ok at first, they put up a screen to cover the side of the house and to catch debris. Before long, the screen came down, shoveled the old roofing material onto my driveway, plants, and bushes, aluminum flashing and plastic wrap from the shingle packages wrapped around my electrical wires coming into my house. 3. ALL my gutters has (had) metal leaf guards, there were none after they cleaned up their mess, they threw them out, too. I told Chris this and he said that only one side had the gutter guards. I said every gutter had them. He looked at me like I was lying, but said he would replace them and to give him a week or two. 4. This was a two day job that turned into a week plus. 5. When shoveling off the debris, some material hit the siding and scuffed it. 6. On the rubber roof, I saw that something was underneath. Chris took a look and said it was a pebble and he was able to push it down and into the Styrofoam, that it wasn't a nail or screw. The roofers should not have left it like that. 7. The roofers should have put rags into the downspouts of the gutters, instead, they used a leaf blower to clean off the roof after sweeping the bulk off the side, and clogged at least three spouts, one of which goes down directly into a pipe in the ground then runs under the back yard to drain. 8. Some damage to plants/bushes and will take the next couple springs to clean everything out that the roofers blew into my gardens. 9. The roofers threw the empty cans of soda onto the ground instead of leaving them on the pic nic table making it look more sloppier than it already did. I have many more pics to share if anyone needs them please email me at tracydwb@aol.com I do customer service at one of my jobs. My boss would be appalled if I left my station sloppy like this company did and treated my customers the way I was treated here. How embarrassing. This company has been paid in full. Let's see if I have any leaks and how long it takes to get ALL the gutter guards replaced."

"Lucas promptly viewed the roofing issues we were experiencing and provided a written proposal for the work. He suggested we visit a nearby roofing project to confirm our shingle color selection. The work was started quickly with material delivery and use of a large trailer instead of dumpster due to concern for undergroud utilites and irrigation. His crew arrived early and worked quickly and efficiently to strip the old roof and carefully inspect the conditrion of the plywood. Great care was taken to protect landscaping. The crew worked until dusk and cleaned up the entire area is preparation for the follwing day's work. The project involved some 25 square of materials and was complete in 1.5 days total. Lucas stopped by after the crew left to check the work, confirm clean up was satisfactory and answer a few questions we had. Very pleased with the work!"

"What I thought was going to be a painful process turned into a pleasant experience. Mr. Flynn was very timely in giving me a quote, supplying information about the materials, paperwork such as insurance certificate , and not subbing out the job. Mr. Flynn's crew was here at 7:50 AM. Stopped for lunch at 11:30 returned to work promptly at 12:30 and was finished with the job by 3. They were all very professional and courteous. The clean up was impeccable. Mr. Flynn and his crew know how to run a business. Kudos to Robyn too for all her help. Great Company!"

"Recently bought a house on which EAW Roofing had done the roof 3 years ago. The roof had a leak and since the previous owner gave me the invoice, I decided to call them for the warranty. They went to take a look and blamed the chimney flue and after getting the chimney inspected and getting the report stating that it was the roof. EAW said that there was no warranty and they needed to charge if they were to inspect it and charge for any repairs needed. Just to get them to visit took months. I decided to check the roof myself and it’s the worst roof job that I had ever seen. They do not stand by their work. I would give them zero stars if possible. I would advise to use someone else as it’s ridiculous to have a roof that’s a few years old that’s leaking and in bad workmanship"

"? We had 4 skylights and part of the roof replaced 4/2024 for $17,000.00. The post construction clean up was exceptional. The roofing material they use is CertainTeed ( best product on the market). The new skylights started leaking after the first snowstorm. We needed buckets, and a plastic sled under multiple leaks in our kitchen and porch. We tried contacting them 3 times and got no response. The material and work is less than 2 years old and ALL of it needs to be replaced. Improving communication with customers would benefit everyone, especially since this happened to a senior citizen who is a veteran. This company is not part of the Better Business Bureau "

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Attleboro, MA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
