"Overall great experience! MAJOR STORM: After catastrophic hail a few years ago, their Ethos representative, Marshal Monsell, inspected damage to our home and gave an estimate for roof, gutters, paint, window and a back door. ROOF: Marshall went up on the roof another day with the insurance adjuster. He pointed out more things that needed to be fixed under code and made sure they were included. WINDOWS/BACK DOOR: Ethos' also sent out, Kenny, the owner of Tru-view, which sells Milguard products. The insurance company originally proposed a very low sum, barely covering the cheapest all-vinyl product! Kenny explained our rights under insurance coverage (don't expect your insurance agent to tell you). Insurance was obligated to replace our expensive all-wood product that the developer (strangely) put in with a similar high quality. He also pointed out in a case where one window was damaged and another was not, yet the two were side by side, both had to be replaced. This was covered by a continuity clause, otherwise replacing one with a slightly different profile would downgrade the exterior and devalue our property. When the second adjuster came out at Ethos' request, Kenny advocated in a easy going but professional manner for every damaged window plus the back door. And after one or two windows, the new adjuster agreed to everything! Without Kenny (and an amenable adjustor) we would have received much less and have had to replace these windows ourselves at great cost! INSTALLATION: Due to the storm's magnitud, we had to wait for close to a year to have the roof and windows replaced. However, the install was done under proper weather conditions. ROOFERS: The roofers were efficient and cleaned up all the stray nails as well. The roof looks good and doesn't leak! WINDOWS: Love the new Milgaurd exterior fiberglass and interior wood windows that slide like a dream. The window crew was professional, respectful and pleasant. Given they are all over, both inside and outside your home for a few days, this was critical. They took the time to install the windows in such a manner you can't tell it's a retrofit. Neighbors installed more expensive Pella windows with another company, but they jut out and don't look like a seamless install. PAINT: After the window installation, Truview sub-contracted a window finishing service to paint the inside trim and inner wood part of the windows. I requested a low VOC paint, but their office hadn't conveyed this. When the painter arrived with another formula, he volunteered to go out to a local paint story and get the formula I wanted with no hassle. He did an excellent job working with this more difficult paint. TIP: Ethos handled the interactions with our insurance, minimizing hassle for us. Even our insurance company said they were great to deal with. TIP: Although they proposed an exterior house painter, we used our own. Based on their other subs, my guess is theirs would be fine too."

"I had three companies come out and provide estimates, Wyndhill's was by far the best. We have had them do some spot roof repairs in the past, and they have always been prompt, communicative, fair in pricing and thorough in their work. This last job we were looking for roofing reinstall estimates, as well as GACO coating estimates. Due to the type and condition of our roof, we opted for the GACO coating. We also had some fiberglass roof panels on our patio blow off in a windstorm and they replaced these too, providing us with a 5-year warranty on all of the work. They came when they said they would, did the work they agreed to do, and everything looks and is great so far. We would definitely use again and highly recommend them."

"I would highly recommend Legacy Roofers, LLC for any roofing replacement or repair needs! Julian and his team were highly professional and went above and beyond to make sure the whole process was done correctly and went smoothly. Julian was super helpful in guiding us in the whole insurance process and helping get everything submitted accurately. I was beyond impressed with how great of a job his crew did cleaning up after the roof install. I don’t think we found a single scrap or nail around our house. This was really appreciated, considering we have a large dog and kids that play in the backyard. The best part of all is our roof looks absolutely fantastic!"

"If you’re looking for a local reliable roofer, look no further than Colorado Roofing & Remodeling. In the aftermath of a hail storm (July 2016), my wife and I noticed a disturbing accumulation of surface shingle granules from the downspouts. The subsequent torrential rains had also washed an abundance of these roof granules onto our exposed rear deck. Now it was time for the inevitable next step: the burden of finding a roofer. Since we didn’t know anyone personally who had roof work done in recent years, we were faced with some nagging questions. How would we know in advance if the contractor was reputable? Would the roofers show up on time and get the job done in an orderly fashion? Would the removal and replacement of the old asphalt shingles break the bank? [We would certainly never hire one of those annoying “door-knockers,” who show up in droves every spring!] Well, all of the above worries started fading away on the day that David (owner of Colorado Roofing) showed up at our front door, not long after contacting him through Angie’s list. We found David to be personable, patient and professional. In short order, our prior concerns were put to rest. Shortly after going up on the roof, David climbed back down with photos showing widespread hail damage. After we contacted our insurance company and they had sent a claims adjuster to our home, David took over coordinating with the adjuster. He got back to us in a timely manner with a complete rundown of all the work involved. And the best news of all was the price. American Family Insurance agreed to pay for the entire job, minus a modest deductible! And there was a lot of labor and involved—including the removal of three layers of old shingles, and installation of new OSB decking (the original decking boards did not meet code), before the shingle underlayment and new shingles could even be installed. David’s roofing crew kept the roof weather-tight as they progressed, and the roof was completely weather-tight before leaving the job after a very long first day. The work was mostly complete by the end of the second day, with a follow-up visit the following morning, for odds and ends and final cleanup—which included several passes over the area with a magnet, along with a final inspection by David to ensure that everything was clean and free of debris. You couldn’t find a nicer, friendlier, guy to work with than David, of Colorado Roofing & remodeling. And his crew was as pleasant and hardworking as you could hope for."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Centennial, CO

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
