"I was very pleased with the timely arrival for instalation. The workers were efficient and careful to not tear the plastic floor covering. Landon, Devon,Chris and Drew were friendly and respectful and patient to answer all my questions. Devon helped ne set up my phone to the temperature controls. I was very pleased how quickly and smoothly they installed my air and furnace. They also used shoe coverings when entering my house. Would use again!!"

"They arrived on time. They listened to me as I prioritized the tasks and described my budget for the project. They helped me save money my showing me a way to use the lighting fixture I had instead of buying a new one. They did the work within the allotted time. They were professional and courteous."

"I'm a repeat customer of Evans Electric. Matt and team did all the electrical work 4 years ago when we finished our basement. Fast forward to Nov. 2023, Matt and team did some electrical work for our kitchen reno, plus recessed lights/switches for bathrooms and office. Matt initially came for consultation and estimate (came by on time), provided various options as though it was his house. I always appreciate different perspectives and the conversation that is "if I were you, I would..." or "have you thought about..." This week, Matt and Tim came for the work, and can't say enough about how great the work is, their professionalism, and attention to detail. Looks great! Great communicator, I knew what they were going to do, what was expected. Matt, Tim, thank you for your work! Will definitely use Evans Electric again, and refer my friends to them as well."

"They did good work, but you feel scammed by the process. Waived dispatch fee provides pressure to sign up for discounted rates with 1 year Advantage Plan. They priced whole house surge protection as an add on. I bought but I'd not planned on it. Next time, I'll try to find a small business that just quotes the job at hand and does it without all the upselling. "

"We are so happy that we hired Drew to help us with our kitchen remodel. The work he did to upgrade our lighting and move our outlets put our project over the top. He is honest, reliable, and truly cares about doing a great job. He took the time to explain the work and even suggested options we had not considered. We highly recommend Drew. "

"The contractor left the job unfinished and then he was in a hurry to get the money. He took property that was not his and kept it, he took some wire connectors, they were not expensive only a few dollars but it's just the principle behind him taking that he knows they weren't his. It took him seven days to come back here to put an outlet cover in the outside of the house. because of this water went inside of my wall and got the carpet wet in one of the bedrooms, meaning the inside of the sheet rock is all wet."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Cornelius, NC

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
