John and his crew repaired and created a natural looking finish with 2 complementing stain colors. John listened to my vision and delivered exactly what we had imagined. "Outstanding! From first contact with Jason, it was clear that he was skilled at the assessment piece, and also clear in providing information to help me understand the process. He pointed out areas that would need to be re-levelled and /or re-mortared. We discussed options for some broken pavers as well as another area that I had not planned - to power wash and stain concrete. Some areas were added at no charge. The estimate was completed before he left, included Angie's discount...a very acceptable price. Over the course of the next 2 weeks or so, I attempted to compare this with 2 other companies...no comparison! 4 other members of this family-owned and operated business – hard working, no complaining, no cut corners - did the work over a 3 day period (slight delay due to rain) and for me, this project was completed in an 'easy' and stress free manner! "I hired these guys due to their great reviews and they did not disappoint. Very reasonable pricing, immaculate work, great communication. Set aside some time to request your estimate, Fred loves to talk about paint. His crew has been working with him for 15-20 years which says a lot about their business practices. I have had years of experiencing other contractors not returning calls, not showing up on time, or not showing up at all, so in this regard Above the Rest is a breath of fresh air. Fred once called me to tell me he was going to call me (at a later time), and also texted me to advise he was running 6 minutes late. Six whole minutes! Such respect for your time and the process is rare and much appreciated. Crew arrived the day prior to pressure wash the entire house, including areas I was not expecting them to pressure wash (patio, concrete pads around the doors, lanai screens). Painters arrived early the next morning and were very efficient and conscientious, clearly caring about their work. They repaired numerous stairstep cracks in the stucco prior to painting, repaired and touched up areas I would have never known were needed (around the chimney on the roof), and painted areas I was not expecting them to paint (lanai ceiling, inside of exterior door frame). They were finished with my 1800 sq ft single story home by early afternoon. I feel like I have a brand new house. I'll be contacting this company again soon to ask about interior painting."

"From the first request for an estimate to the completion of the project they did an exceptional job. Cathi is the office manager and coordinator. She did an superb job communicating with me through every phase of the project from coordinating the estimate, scheduling the job, obtaining brick samples to match for the project and billing. She was always accessible to talk to and ask questions. I only remember once that I had to leave a phone message and she returned the call within 15 minutes. Joey is an phenomenal brick mason. To me, he is just as much an artist as he is a mason. He took great care to make sure the project was done right. Like Cathi he was also an exceptional communicator. He took great pride in his work and accepted nothing but perfection. He kept the work site clean and also took care to not disturb or damage the landscaping (bushes and grass) immediately adjacent to the project. When all was finished I was very pleased with the end result. I would definitely call them again if I needed any masonry work done."

"They had to reorder materials and so there was a delay. New material was not the same. Individual pickets slide - I didn't see that with first material I was quoted ...and places have been easily scratched/dented especially at gate area. I had also asked the person doing the quote to close up open areas at the bottom of the fence across rear of previously installed fence...he said no problem but I had to remind crew and then they used scrap pieces that weren't even smooth and it looked bad with nails that attached it sticking out. Neighbor behind me knocked the pieces they installed out due to the bad look on his side. So I had to patch with portable pieces (stick in the ground fencing from Home Depot) the best I could so dogs can't escape. It doesn't look great and a couple of the old scrap pieces hang out from it that I can't remove. They did work around an unusual shaped area and that turned out nice."
