"These painters are ever more impressive and detailed than I ever imagined someone would be. We had multiple people come look at our house to be painted and Randy and Chris immediately stood out to us with their knowledge and understanding of what we wanted. And I never felt like we were being sold or pressured into anything. Highly recommend them!"

SEAN ROSS PAINTING

Serving Glenwood, IA and surrounding areas

"Outstanding! Came same day contacted to give us a competitive bid. I had earleier contacted a competitor (a well known Omaha vendor) who took five days to come and review proposed project and then waited and additional three days to receive an email bid that was 50% higher than Sean Ross Painting. Requested that work be done during a certain week -- four weeks in the future. Sean Ross met our request and performed the work in the period that we requested. Workers showed up on time and acted professionally during the entire period. The wallpaper was extremely hard to get off as it was nearly thirty years old and had not been properly primed. They removed it without complaint. The painting was extremely neat and exceeded our expectations. I would highly recomend Sean Ross Painting to anyone needing this type of service."

"Facing a near-complete rebuild of our basement room (my man-cave) after some structural and waterproofing work, I wanted to find a company that served as a one-stop shop with experience in big jobs but would treat my small relatively small job as it were just as important. I needed some flooring, framing and drywall and painting. Oh, and maybe some more electrical outlets, because I'm tired of running cords all over the place for the computer, the TV, etc.? And how about running some ethernet cable, too? How about a door to separate the room from the rest of the basement so when the furnace clicks on I don't have to turn up to the TV to hear it? And maybe make it look stylish and up-to-date if we wanted to sell our home someday? All for a reasonable price? And can it be done quickly, I mean, like, fast, because all the stuff in the man-cave is making the rest of the house look cluttered, and it's driving me nuts, and we can't have that! (Oh, while you're at it, can you install a new shower backsplash in the upstairs bathroom? And tear out the old stuff? Oh, there's a sliding glass door and mirror, can you take that out?) And I didn't want the hassle of calling all around town to find people who could do what I wanted done without all the delays. I wanted the convenience of getting all the work from one place. Shrug. Not a lot to ask, right? That's right. That's pretty much the impression I got from Chuck when he came to visit. That's right, the owner of the company came to visit us in person -- TWICE. Once before the structural and waterproof company was done, and then afterward so he could get a better idea of what his crews would be facing. Now, not being an old hand when it came to home remodeling, I pretty much trusted his vision with the final product. He helped me bring out the WOW in what could be this room with some added features I didn't even think about. So Chuck just wanted to upsell me, right? I didn't feel that way. Not when he kept trying to find ways to save money AND make things look amazing. Look, you're going to find a bunch of contractors out there who can claim they can deliver your project 1) on time 2) on budget and 3) by making something unique to what you want. Pick any two, right? Not with HSP. They'll nail all three. Let's add 4) and have patience for a nervous customer who calls the poor office manager asking when the next crew is coming out before the current crew is even finished with their work. That's these folks. They listen, they work with your schedule, and they were definitely patient with me. I'm not saying your man-cave remodel from the cement block walls and slab floor to completion will take just a few weeks as mine did. But I challenge you to find another company that can get tear-down, framing, drywall, flooring (did I mention the vinyl flooring not only looks like stately wood planks and doesn't FEEL like, well, vinyl?) and electric work done as quickly. Oh, yeah, what about that door to block out the furnace roar I mentioned earlier? How about a new painted and stained barn door! That's because having an owner of the company who is just as much an artist as he is a contractor and having everything under one roof helped a LOT. What was I left with when the job was done? A blend between a tech start-up office and a sports bar. Not everything went perfectly well. The drywall crew accidentally busted open a water pipe and ruined a bunch of the ceiling drywall they'd just put in. But character isn't shown when everything goes right; it's when a disaster hits. Were there any delays in the job because of this? No. Any excuses from the crew? Absolutely not. The guys put in some extra hours to make up for the accident and kept the schedule on track. Isn't that what you'd want from a home contractor? If you've gotten this far in this review, you're probably wondering "did HSP pay this guy to make this review"? Nah, they didn't. So let me tell you why I'm writing all this: because I hope your experience in your remodeling is just as great as ours was."

"We recommend Kenny's Painting Service in Papillion (Omaha area). We hired this company to paint the exterior of our home. We considered KPS because we were impressed with the appearance of other homes they had painted in our neighborhood. We contacted the company and asked for a bid. There is always some uncertainty that comes with reaching out to a business for the first time, especially when it's for something so valuable and visible. In this case, any such feelings were immediately put at ease. The owner, Joe, is down-to-earth and friendly, but also 100% professional. He has a straight-forward and no-nonsense approach that we appreciate. Everything was laid out clearly in the bid. There were no surprises. He answered all of our questions and shared his recommendations when we asked for his opinion on things. The crew that painted our house were very kind and you could tell they cared about the work. It was not just a job for them. We experienced a few rain delays but the owner communicated with us throughout the project and they always did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. We would hire Kenny's Painting Service again without hesitation for a future exterior paint job. We'll be contacting them when it comes time to update our interiors as well. These are high quality individuals who do high quality work. Trustworthy. Thorough. On time. Friendly. Honest. If you're ready to get your house painted, give Kenny's Painting Service a call. You'll be glad you did."

"Installed windows in one bedroom and the master bath. Generally went well but compared to an earlier experience with Renewal by Andersen the installers were not as professional and did not clean up as well. The new windows were dirty on the inside and outside and they left some debris on the bedroom floor. When the Andersen installers left the windows were clean and the floor was spotless. Having said that these windows were almost 50% less expensive so I would probably use them again and just ask them to clean up better before they leave. <br />"

"After researching several sites such as this in which customers evaluated their experiences with contractors performing work on the exterior of their houses, I called several of those who had received at least adequate reviews by the majority of those customers who took the time to write one. I met with and explained the project I wanted done to the frontman/salesman of six different companies. The project was the complete residing of my 32 year old two story house with Hardie brand fiber cement board, the removal of a wood shake single roof and gutters and the installation of a ridge vent and a premium impact resistant fiberglass shake look roof and bigger gutters, all of which had to satisfy the Homeowner's subdivision guidelines. Following the discussions and receiving bids from all the companies, I selected Jim Pull and Premier Exteriors as the individual and company that I wanted to do the project for me. I made the selection based on several factors. First, I felt extremely comfortable with Jim and his knowledge of how to achieve want I wanted and the design suggestions he made to make my project more pleasing (and therefore more acceptable ) to my wife and by default to me as well. Secondly, I took his supplied list of former projects and actually went out and looked at them and saw that they had the look that I was hoping for at my residence. Thirdly, he and his company were able to do both the siding and the roofing together while some of those I spoke to could do only one or the other. I knew that they both had to be integrated together to achieve the best result. And finally, he bid each of the jobs individually and the combined cost was well within the range I was prepared to spend. When the work began, it was initially sporadic because of the seemingly constant rain, but the workers were very personable and explained everything about what they were doing and the schedule they were following to get things done. Everything was sealed and weathered proofed at the end of each day in the event of rain during the night and the job site was cleaned each night as well. Jim made regular visits to the job to make sure the work was up to his standard and to entertain any questions or concerns I might have. The coordination between the siding crew and the roofing crew appeared seamless and both crews even worked some weekends to complete their portions of the project. I was pleased and proud of the quality work and the look of my house everyday that I walked around it after the workers left for the day (which sometimes was after dark). Now that the job is complete, I’m extremely satisfied with my project and receive compliments from the neighbors almost every day. Good job to Jim Pull and Premier Exteriors."

"The owner Dan was very professional and thorough. He went over everything with us in great detail that his crew would be doing before starting the job. He has an eye for detail and was very helpful offering suggestions for paint color and what would look nice. His paint crew spent time replacing rotted wood, siding pieces and fascia first. Other companies never offered or even suggested to repair parts of our house before painting. Aabex did an extremely thorough job and they went above and beyond what we expected. We are so happy with the way everything turned out. We highly recommend Aabex."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Glenwood, IA

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
