"We were not sure whether we wanted a paver patio or a stamped concrete patio, but Capital City Patios talked us through our many questions and discussed all the pros and cons of both options. They were very informative, polite, and enjoyable to work with."

Small jobs welcome

"We recently hired JM Concrete LLC to work on our patio, and we were thoroughly impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. From the very beginning, they were prompt in responding to our inquiry, setting a positive tone for the entire project. They took extra care to protect our lawn during the construction by using boards, which demonstrated their attention to detail and respect for our property. The work was completed on time, and we found their pricing to be fair and transparent. We highly recommend JM Concrete LLC for anyone looking for quality and reliable service at a reasonable price.â"

"I am happy to write that my experience with Cleanstone Construction was absolutely wonderful. Wes and his team were very kind, professional and committed to doing a great, clean job. They worked to add new stone pavers at the end of our backyard pathway and beautifully matched the pavers to what we have on the other parts of the pathway. We could not be happier with the end result and are looking forward to working with them on a patio project later this spring."

"We recently had the pleasure of having Tyrone Adiches replace our 3,652 sq. ft. exposed aggregate driveway including front and rear sidewalks. It was a rather extensive job breaking down and removing the existing aggregate driveway and sidewalks. Then replacing them. Despite many setbacks due to spring rain Tyrone and his team completed the job in a professional, workmanlike manner. We are extremely pleased with the completed project and would highly recommend him for your concrete work."

"I wasn't thrilled with the end result.  I think they laid the asphalt when it was too cool.  Granted my driveway is an unusual shape and more difficult to pave.  Mr. Worden was easy to work with. <br /> <br /> June 2014 update:  Bill Worden provided a free seal coating on my driveway to compensate for the lackluster paving job.  The seal coat looks great, and I appreciate it.  Was a nice customer service gesture.  I would do business with them again.  Moral of the story is to lay asphalt during the warmer months, and hopefully they start paving in the morning while the asphalt is still hot.  If you are the second job of the day and they show up in the afternoon the asphalt may be cooler and may not go down as well.  Overall I had a good customer experience."

"First--let me say that my initial dealing with Ed's Landscaping was for an estimate on grading and driveway installation. I did not hire them (or anyone) because they only did one kind of paving, and I haven't hired anyone for the drive because I haven't found one that I feel will meet my needs.  <br /> I called Ed's again on Monday (22nd) for Darrell to come back out for an estimate on *just the grading.* He called this morning to schedule a meeting. I jokingly said "a half and hour.* His response--"is an hour okay?" PROMPT? (yes) RELIABLE? (yes) Cost (undetermined) OVERALL? (A-PLUS) <br />"

"Dennis was great. We have a problem with a very poorly designed culvert under our driveway that clogs with leaves multiple times every fall and winter, often eroding the driveway. He met with VDOT to see what options there might be for a bigger pipe or a double pipe. In the end we decided to build-up the driveway so that the water flowed back toward the street and across the driveway (rather then down the driveway). He was attentive to detail and gave us several choices of stone. We now have a new driveway that is graded properly. The price was reasonable for the work involved. I would definitely use him again."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Hopewell, VA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
