"First impression was started with truck pulling up in front of the house. The vehicle was clean and the decals on the truck were impressive. It continued with the crew being on-time and professionally dressed for roofing work. The repair was completed and looked like nothing had happened. The price was slightly higher than the competition, but we received great service from the first call to the office through invoicing. As a retired Professional Engineer I appreciated the old fashioned style of customer service and pride in workmanship that Jonathon and the Kayco Roofing crew provided."

"The Strickland team, from Nicole in the office to the installers were very friendly and professional. I received a quote on one day and by day two had a commitment for the job. The installers arrived early and immediately began work. Any questions I had as they worked were answered. They let me know exactly what they were doing if I asked. they finished the roof in a day and they cleaned up the site by the next day. James came by on the second day to inspect the team's work work. The roof is beautiful. Thank Team Strickland"

"Trafton roofing did both our roof and our gutters on our house; additionally, they repaired a pre-existing leak that I had been fighting for years (hard to reproduce/detect). I could not be happier with their service and give them the highest of recommendations!"

"We used Turnkey and Kenny L. based on the recommendation of a co-worker who had 2 roofs replaced. It started off slow due to responsiveness of our private insurance adjuster not Turnkey. Kenny L. was always available, personable and very professional. It took a while to get our roof replacement scheduled due to the hurricane. Kenny worked to ensure ours was completed to meet a deadline we had. I did the call the owner, Ben, at one point; however, never received a return call. The roofers did damage panels on our screen enclosure; however, Turnkey replaced them at no cost to us. No issues with our roof or repairs so far. Overall, we are satisfied."

"I recently purchased a home that had significant water damage to an exterior wall. I got estimates from multiple people and initially went with another company since Gary's price was a little higher due to the fact he wanted to do a more extensive rebuild. After the first company I hired dug into the wall they realized the damage was worse than they thought and they were not licensed to do what needed to be done. I called Gary back and he came by the very next morning to assess the situation. He honored his earlier estimate even though what the other company had messed up was going to take him more work to fix. Once he started working, he realized that whoever initially built the wall had not done a good job and some things were not up to code, which again created more work for him. We eventually got everything put back together for roughly the initial estimate, even after the additional materials and labor.
A month or two after he finished the work, my roof developed a leak near where he had been working. Even though it was likely not his fault (I had a new roof installed by a different company right around the same time), simply because there was a small chance that it might have been, he returned multiple times to troubleshoot where the leak was coming from. He eventually completely redid a small portion of the roof in the area where the leak was and that fixed the problem. Meanwhile, the new doorjamb that he had installed warped slightly due to the Florida humidity, causing the door to become crooked. He came and fixed this problem also, no questions asked.
I am a first-time homeowner, meaning I didn't know a lot going into this process . Gary was and continues to be extremely helpful. In my opinion he is a very trustworthy and skilled contractor."

"I am very satisfied with their work. They did an excellent job and done all in one day, they cleaned up well, and guttering was great. They did what they said they would do. exactly what the contracts states, I had no problem with them and their work. A fair price for all the things they have done."

"Amazing experience for my re roof using this contractor. All the other roofing companies sent sales people out instead of qualified roofing experts. Very hard working crew that did an an excellent, precise install on my home."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Keystone Heights, FL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
