"Cesar did amazing work. He and his crew worked diligently to complete the many jobs I hired them to do. The first job was the biggest; painting my two story home. I am happy to say it looks incredible!! I would highly recommend this contractor to anybody wanting quality work completed at a fair price."

"Great. All repairs were done in an outstanding manner. The extra insulation beat the cold weather and made the house much more comfortable. Typical of the work done by the Ben Kitchen's crew--friendly, very professional work!"

"It went very well thanks to suggestions by Shane and Sam's good work ethic. The cost of replacing the boards (which keep the screens from blowing away) was estimated way too expensive for me. Shane thought that the back side of the boards might look good, and he took one off to see, and it was indeed good. The mission was then to take each board off, clean the back side the seal it, then replace it. Sam's job was to unscrew the deck screws, and remove the boards. My job was to clean and seal the back sides with polyurethane then give them back to Sam to reinstall. We both worked nonstop for 5 1/2 hours. Sam was great, energetic, easy to work with, and understood entirely what need to be done. By me working with Sam the job was completed in 5 1/2 hours instead of maybe 11-14 hours by him alone, and that saved me more than a few bucks. I sent Shane two photos of some of the finished boards in place, as I couldn't upload them here."

"Overall we are very pleased. The sales bit is misleading - we were told that we were chosen to receive discounts as a marketing home. I eventuallly asked and it turns out that everyone is a marketing home. My understanding is that they dont spend their advertising money on print adds or commercials instead choosing to uses signs in yards and custumer testimonies and referrals. I appreciated the sales reps honesty in this.
The window installers were courteous, fast ( in and out in a day) and cleaned up after themselves. The siding guys decided not to come the day after the fourth of July when they were supposed to be there and no one told us until we called the office. That was not cool. But they did a good job and also cleaned up after themselves.
It has not even been a month so we dont know how the new products will effect our energy bills but we have been able to turn the air temp up in the house and still feel cool - even with the 100+ temperatures. Our old windows were original to the house built in the late 80's and rotting in several places. The siding again original was in such bad shape that we really embarrased. It looks great now and several of our neighboors have told us so!!!! YEAH!!"

"The crew did a wonderful job of cleaning and staining the house. They were very careful with the power washing to avoid damage to the plywood/batten siding, which had not been cleaned or stained in more than 25 years. They also went to extra efforts to make the semi-transparent stain color come out even where the old wood was faded and to match the color on the new wood used for repairs. They even helped clean windows and clean and replace storm windows. Pressure washing almost always leads to some messes and there was a bit of that due to the unusual construction of our house--not something they or we could have anticipated. Minor inconvenience."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Manhattan, KS

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
