Customers say: True professional

"We love the walkway that was installed! It is functional AND beautiful. Southern Grove Landscaping is a small operation, so we had to wait for a couple of months to begin the job. Once the job was initiated, it only took a few days to complete. When they left, only about 3 inches on either side of the walk was affected, and they finished that with soil and grass seed. They originally planned to use digging equipment to prepare the job, but later determined it was not possible to get the equipment in our small entry gate. They respectfully prepared the job by hand, without charging us extra. We could not be happier with the quality of work. The quote was similar to others, and they came out to discuss options with us before sending a quote."

"I have been a Landscapes by Terra customer for over 10 years. The work done by Landscapes by Terra is excellent. The planning is thoughtful and all of my requests and/or changes were included in the planning document. Suggestions for plantings were creative and based on the growing conditions at my location. Planning took into account future growth of each plant and the amount of maintenance that would be needed. The work crew was knowledgeable, hardworking and courteous. I never use any other company – they’re the best!"

"Last fall we contacted Curt's Brick and Stone and dealt w/Jake who was very knowledgable and made suggestions about our project that we had not thought of. Ultimately we decided that the timing was not right for this project. We then contacted Jake again in July of this year and proceeded w/ our original plans. The price remained basically the same from the 1st quote to the 2nd quote which was a pleasant suprise. Another Jake and Justin came out to install our paver patio and we could not be better pleased with these young men very polite and hardworking individuals. As time went on we came to the conclusion that these guys could very well have been building a patio for their parents or themselves, as they were that meticulous in everything that they did . They finished the project in 3 days and Caleb came out the next day to install a hand rail on the steps. Again excellent service. Curt's Brick and Stone has four excellent representatives for the company in these gentlemen, Jake, Jake, Justin and Caleb ! ! ! ! In the future if we decide to have another project done we will only call Curt's Brick and Stone. We could not be more pleased with how they handled everything from start to finish! ! ! !"

"I needed to replace my front brick steps from Brick to Concrete. We have been running into loose bricks, pretty much after each winter, to the extent that I was concerned about safety of visitors (my brother-in-law fell on a loose brick). Chris and crew showed up on time (like 1 min early!). And they did a great job taking all the bricks out and pouring concrete instead to give us a peace of mind and a good looking concrete steps. Throughout the process, Chris explained to me what is going on in detail and answered all my questions. I probably asked him the same question a few times and he patiently answered my questions. Chris is a master mason with specialty in concrete. He knows what he is doing and does it well. He is humorous, generous and a gentleman. Chris (personally) spent a lot of time power washing other areas of my pavers even though that was not part of the deal. I offered to pay him for it but he refused and said "I just want the place to look gorgeous when I leave. I highly recommend Chris and his team for any concrete / cement work."

"Great. They were very easy to work with. They returned calls promptly, showed up when they said they would, did a good job matching the mortar and checked to see if we needed anything else done before they departed."

"We had our failing patio in the back rebuilt and reconfigured while we were at it. It was maybe a little more challenging than doing a new patio, but all the issues were resolved and we are pleased with the results."

"<p>I cannot say enough nice things about Durable Slate.  Their work was an exact match to the 1916 era mortar on our house.  They got the color right, the lime/sand/tint correct and the correct joint surface.  Same for the chimney cap and the stucco work.  Excellent and the match on the stucco was perfect.  Total work came to $3,000.</p> <p>But this type of workmanship comes at a cost, and in many ways, Durable Slate is a luxury priced service.  <br /> <br /><br /> <br />When we bought our new home in Baltimore we asked for a quote to replace the 80 year old copper flashing on the new house, as well as repair broken slates on the house and the price was simply beyond anything I could call reasonable.  And after I recovered from the shock -  $11k-15k for new copper flashing, some tuckpointing around two stones on our chimney, and replace a few slates on the roof, we simply couldn't justify that amount of money.  (We actually found a native Baltimore slate roofer who did all of the work we wanted Durable Slate to do, but at 80% off their estimate - and the work is gorgeous.)<br /> <br /><br /> <br />So I would recommend them, and on the job we used them, it was a wonderful experience.  But their charges in Maryland are very high and we could not afford them for our new "old" house.<br /> <br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Marion, OH

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
