"I met with the owner Micah Dean on a Friday we talked through all the yard issues. He listened  understood exactly what I wanted done.  He said the entire job could be completed in five days.  Although it rained on one of the scheduled work days, they still completed the job on time.   There were several different crews working from fencing to landscaping and they were all very professional and  responsive as the job progressed.  After some of the large bushes were torn out from between the houses I asked if an 8' shrub (after the fact and 3 days into the project) could be placed in the side yard to provide some privacy right at the kitchen door.  The next day... there it was!   When the project was completed I could not believe the transformation.  Micah and his crew really enjoy what they do, and customer satisfaction is important to them.  This is reflected in the quality of their work.  
As a side note, I also had a very large limb that had fallen and was hanging on the power line (the week before I contracted with Dean Landscaping) from my neighbor's tree.  Micah had arranged to have it hauled away, since it had taken the power company so long to respond.  The power company did finally arrive and removed it, however it was very reassuring to know I had a backup plan.  
I couldn't be more pleased with Dean Landscaping.  I will definitely be calling them in the future to have additional work done.

"I called Elite Fence to obtain an estimate to put up a fence around our back yard, and Skip came out that day to take measurements and discuss our needs.  It took a couple days for Skip to get the quote to us--likely due to the fact that we wanted cedar fencing, not pressure treated lumber...we really feel that Skip spent extra time and effort trying to find us the best possible price for the materials.  The quote ended up being close to or less than we anticipated.  We had trouble getting other companies to come out and give us an estimate, and we were so sure we were getting a great price from Skip that we stopped trying to get other quotes.
We had restrictions in our schedule and Skip was totally flexible on timing of the installation of the fence.  He was there working when promised, and worked until after dark on some nights.  Skip was on-site then entire time...he and one other person did all the work.  Several post holes, of over 100 posts holes dug, had to be dug manually to avoid  hitting services.  Over 100 bags of cement had to be carried out to the post locations.  Over 100 posts had to be carried...then later all the cedar planks.  No vehicles were driven into our yard.  The amount of manual labor alone in this job was huge.
Skip used string to line up all the posts and make sure they were straight.  Once the posts were dug and had set for several days to allow the cement to set, Skip mounted the wire mesh, then added the cedar planks over the wire mesh.  The fence is perfectly straight and  looks absolutely beautiful!  We thought it would look nice, and we needed it to keep our dogs safe, but we never imagined it would enhance the appearance of our house and yard so much.  I can't even begin to describe how beautiful it is!
Skip is an absolute perfectionist in everything he does.  There were a couple cedar boards that he didn't like the way they looked, so he returned them for nicer ones.  He bought extra bags of cement because several holes were bigger than planned.  Many, if not most, contractors would not have bothered to make these adjustments, and Skip did this with no increased cost to us.  
We asked Skip to leave the entrance at the front of our yard unfenced until we have built the garage we have planned, because the fence will be attached to (or run up to) the garage....and until the garage is done, we don't know exactly where the fence should be.  Skip was really great about this, and will come back in spring to install the rest of our fence.  In the meantime, Skip offered to put up snow/construction type plastic fencing to close off that 65 feet opening to contain our dogs for the winter.  Skip was even a perfectionist about how he erected this snow fence...the fence is perfected straight, and the fence is tight.
Several days after Skip finished the fence, he returned and spent several hours smoothing out the dirt around the holes, and removing dirt where too much remaining from digging the post holes.
We have never worked with anyone who takes more pride in his work than Skip does--it is evident in everything he does--and we could not be happier with the job that he did.  And not only does he do a beautiful job, but he is a great person to work with....he is professional, friendly, responsive...and he loves dogs.
