"The plumbers showed up on time and installation of my 50 gallon, electric, hot water heater was professional. BEWARE! They will charge you $175.00 for pulling a permit. The permits cost $43 here in Franklin, WI. They did not break down the price of the permit they just told me the permit was $175.00. I would have had cold water for a couple of more days to save $264 for the two permits."

"We're very happy with the work. Chris came out quickly and provided a detailed estimate within a week or two. The price was in the middle of other estimates we received, but they stuck to it except for a few extra projects we voluntarily added on once work started, which he priced out for us in advance so we knew how much we would be adding. Chris was on the job every day with his various crew members, and he was happy to discuss progress as it went. They worked long hours and finished earlier than their original timeline, which was a nice bonus. Most importantly, we're happy with the work itself, and everyone who sees it comments on how great the new basement looks. We would definitely use them again for other remodeling projects."

"Working with Jon was a dream. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was communicative, respectful, kind, fair, worked hard and fast and made the drawings of my dream art studio come to life. If you can snag him for your project, thank your lucky stars. I did."

"We've had Mike do several things for us.  He landscaped and regraded a side-yard that was having poor drainage.  Haven't had any basement water issues, since.  He installed a dishwasher for us and was willing to pick one out for us to b/c I could care less about that sort-of thing and don't have time.  He has also fixed our dryer.  He is amazing and I trust him completely!"

"Scott Vavra, owner, did the plumbing in our newly built home.  He met with us prior, gave us an estimate, and did the work....himself.  We liked dealing with the owner of the business.  If we had questions, we got answers immediately, did not have to wait.  We built a 3300 sq ft house, with three full baths and two other sink locations so it was quite a bit of work.  Only complaint is he had his ideas on what brands of equipment to use and we did not always agree with his selections and he was reluctant to use our suggestions. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Montreal, WI

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
