"Shaban from Westbound Appliance Repair came out to fix my refrigerator and made the whole process easy. He was on time, very professional, and also just a genuinely friendly person to deal with. He explained what was going on and got it fixed without any hassle. Everything’s been working perfectly since. Really glad I called them, and I’d definitely recommend Westbound Appliance Repair to anyone who needs a reliable fix."

"Did a complete remodel which included demolishing a wall, removing and replacing an older model toilet. Removed and installed tile on the floor. Installed shower and drain. Installed glass block walls. Upgraded lighting and ventilation fan. Upon completion of the project he removed all trash and debris from the area. Highly recommend Crown Legacy for any remodel work heâ s qualified to do."

"GE Profile Freezer/icemaker hasn't been cold enough for months and we waited through several repairs since August 2024. It's now end of January 2025. Several other service techs came out many times. This week a tech finally misrepresented appliance as working to AHS homewarranty even though the ice in the icemaker was purchased from Raley's, and not made by GE icemaker. It has ice, and it's cold enough and working, said AT technician. The homewarranty AHS offered that I get a second opinion and Samer Appliances came out within a day and fixed it! The click click click click of ice dropping is music to my ears. Please give Samer Appliances a call because they actually care about your appliances and they will fix them. They also fixed my dishwasher!"

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Rio Linda, CA

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
