"John and his wife (Connie) came out 2 weeks later to replace my electrical panel and replace all of my lights in my kitchen and family room. The work they did was superb! John showed me that the panel was so old that it was actually burning/melting. He was also kind enough to talk with the company who replaced my countertops to explain that the work they did, loosened wires in my kitchen (which they claimed was impossible). Their work was outstanding and they explained everything that they were doing and why they were doing it. "Scott did an amazing job on our fence repair. Our wooden fence had some rotting posts and the fence was falling in as a result. Scott took out the rotting posts and replaced them with new ones. He cut the old posts into pieces so they would be ready to put out for trash pick-up. We had ropes holding up the fence, and he and his team removed those as part of the job. He is very service-oriented and did very high quality work!"

"Eric Mortenson is one of the nicest people we've ever met.  But, he is a also a true professional.  Ours was not a very big job, but he handled it as though it were as important as any other.  He does most of the work himself, with one helper.  He is meticulous about how everything is done, and if it's not perfect he changes it.   <br /> He gave us good advice about what color would look best with our house.  We wanted a composite material with minimum maintenance and we think he chose the most reliable product.  I assumed we'd go with  uprights of this material beneath the rails, but he suggested black steel.  It looks terrific.   <br /> It took about four days, and at the end of each day they would carefully pick up all the debris.  If something had blown into a neighbor's yard, they went and got it.  At the end of the whole process, our yard looked like there had been no construction at all.   <br /> The finished deck is even better than we expected.  And, that's what Eric said he strives for:  Giving people something extra that they didn't expect. <br /> Here are some examples of Eric and Scott (his helper) going the extra mile: <br /> ~Our old deck was above our dryer vent, making it impossible to access.  So, the vent hadn't been cleaned in 20 years.  I wanted them to rip off the old deck, and then have the dryer serviceman come out.  Eric suggested that it would be better not to interrupt the work.  So, he told me to schedule the dryer cleaning, and he drove over from Minneapolis the day before and cut away an access hole in the old deck.   <br /> ~The Timbertech decking boards were shipped with plain wooden boards around them to protect them.  Scott knew that I liked to save wood for my fire pit, and he offered to cut these long boards into fire-sized pieces for me.  Actually, Eric ended up doing it because he could do it faster, but both men were awfully nice about it. <br /> ~Eric upgraded the post tops at no extra expense to us, simply because it would look better, though it hadn't been included in the original  bid. <br /> This is an honest contractor.  When he went to get the permit, Maplewood said that none was needed because the deck would be less than 30 inches off the ground.  Eric could have not bothered to mention that to us, and we would never have known.  But, he did tell us and deducted it from the total price. <br /> Eric Mortenson Construction is highly sought after.  You will need to call him at the beginning of March, because within a few weeks after that, he is booked.  As I said, he does all the work himself, so he can only do so many jobs per year.  We would highly recommend  <br />"
