"It worked out very well to choose Pedro and Barrera construction for the replacement of my driveway. I met with about six different companies and got a very competitive estimate from Barrera. Other estimates were up to two times higher! Pedro was very responsive by text during the contract arrangement. The crew showed up on time on the scheduled date. As Pedro had promised, they had all the equipment that they needed to demolish and haul away my old asphalt and concrete driveway. Pedro himself was usually on site and even when he was not, the crew seemed to know exactly what to do and go about it in industrious fashion. After one day, the old driveway was gone and most of the forms for the new one were built with the gravel base in place. On day two, the forms were finished, concrete was poured with reinforcing wire mesh and after a couple hours, the forms were removed to complete the job. Over the next few days, I got a lot of positive comments about the new driveway from passersby and I was happy to recommend Barrera construction to a few people who asked specifically what company had done the job. My new driveway is a huge improvement and I'm grateful that working with Barrera was such a good experience."

"I had a 25x31' pad with an 8ft apron and sidewalk that needed to be poured and the D&J team did great! Jim & his crew were professional and on time, worked hard, and did excellent work. They stayed until 10:30 at night to make sure the concrete cured correctly and that everything was done right before they left. They explained everything if I had questions, and inspections were easy to pass because they did their concrete work the right way. They used 4000 psi concrete, proper re-bar and metal sizes and did the footers correctly. They were precise and I felt comfortable spending a lot of money for their work, because I knew it was quality work. The job took four days and they kept their work site clean every day."

Not everything was perfect from start to finish, but the mark of someone good to work with is that if something isn't how you want it, you talk about with them, they listen, and then they make it right. I am very happy with the end result. The best advice I can give someone considering this company is to have a little patience and don't expect that everything is always going to go according to schedule... the weather and other factors outside your contractor's control often will set things back. The important thing, in my opinion is to end up with a finished product that matches your intent and lasts. This review is being written a couple weeks after the work was completed, so I can't speak to the longevity of the work, but I got everything that I was looking for and don't see any reason that it won't last. One of the delays in my job was due to weather, and maybe some contractors would have gone ahead with work even if conditions were not ideal, but Shaun explained why due to rain the previous day we needed to wait to perform the pour, and I was fine with the delay... I don't doubt that it was the right choice. I also contacted 6 concrete contractors over a 1 year period (3 never returned my calls / texts, and one was almost twice as much) and this company was the best deal."
