"We recently moved into a new home and our air conditioning stopped working. The previous owners had left us a list of subcontractors they have used in the past and Select a/c was on the list. We looked them up on Angie's list and gave them a call. They were able to come out the same day and fix the problem. Oscar was our technician and he was friendly, professional and did a great job! He worked very quickly! Before entering the house he offered to cover his shoes to protect our carpet. He was the first repairman in all of my years of owning a home who has offered to do this. I was so impressed! 
Our unit is 16 years old and I have very basic knowledge of how it works. Someone could have easily walked in and told me we needed a new unit and I wouldn't have known any better. 
It is refreshing to do business with such an honest company. When this unit wears out, we will be giving them a call. 
I have programmed their number into my phone and will be referring them to all of my friends and family.

On Memorial Day weekend my 20 year old air cond stopped cooling;  unit came with the house so I had a Home Warranty Co in case something went wrong.  They had done minor repairs over the past few years.  Turns out this time it was the coil.  I'll spare you the details of the miserable situation I found myself in between the Home Warranty Co and the AC provider they sent out, but after a WEEK of back and forth and still no resolution, I fired them both and called AirCo on 6-7; I had "interviewed" them 2 years ago but decided not to get a new unit at that time.  So I called the office to have someone come out.  Office person said they could be there at 2 but I had a meeting I couldn't get out of.  Got put on hold for 5 seconds and when she came back she said Craig could be at my house in one hour!!  Craig was 10 min earlier than expected, had the proposal written in about 15 min. and set the install date for 6-14.  Install people also showed up early, very polite and happy guys and they got right to work.  That might have been the end of the story EXCEPT, stuff does happen now and then! 

One of the install guys missed his footing and stepped thru my kitchen ceiling.  He was fine, but big hole!  I called Craig who said they had a great guy, Miguel, who handles all repairs and to call the office and tell Stacy.  Called, Stacy was "not available" BUT Paula could help me!  Paula said she'd call Miguel and he'd call me, also gave me his phone number.  Literally 10 min later Miguel called, all apologetic it took him so long!  

Bottom line:  Install folks patched the hole, finished their install and cleaned up beautifully.  Miguel came the following day and did the initial fix; we let the paint dry 4 days and he returned to finish with a second coat of paint.  Had a picky neighbor come see the repair job and even HE couldn't tell anything had happened.

"We scheduled a 4 pm appointment. By 4:45, no one showed up or called to confirm their whereabouts. I had to call Metro Air and ask what was going on. The secretary said she will dispatch a technician to my house. The technician did not arrive until 5:30. He was kind and was able to fix the capacitor, which was causing the issue. "I hired Manny from Angi. He and his co-worker Abel came to my home last week to verify that my A/C needed replacing. Manny took the time to inspect my unit and found several mistakes the installer made 10 years ago. I got a quote that was several hundred dollars less than another A/C company. I scheduled Manny to come out today to do the job. I could tell from the beginning that Manny and Abel knew what they were doing. While Manny was disconnecting the condenser, Abel was in the attic tearing out the old unit and began putting in the new coils and return air duct work. The job took 6 hours. When they were finished, I inspected the completed job. It was an amazing transformation. The A/C was cooling the house until it became frigid. With the new thermostat everything was easy to program and use. I would recommend Manny and Son Air Conditioning and Heating to any one whom need any type of work done on their heating or A/C. "Air conditioning stopped working on a Wednesday. David sent out a technician that afternoon to confirm the compressor was bad. The next day a crew of 3 came out in late afternoon and installed a new A/C unit (old one was 28 yo) and a new furnace (old one was 30 yo). I stuck with RUUD/Rheem due to good experiences. The crew was efficient (3 hours to do both installs), the A/C is working great with cooler air and more forceful blowing, and they briefly checked the furnace operation also. My old unit was a 10 SEER operating probably at a 7 efficiency lately and my new unit is a 14.3 SEER. I found everyone polite from the owner to the workers, addressed my needs, and answered my questions. I still use my old thermostat which is Honeywell programmable while the one they gave me was Honeywell non-programmable. And BTW, David said I probably would raise my thermostat a degree or so with the new unit, and I did without any loss of comfort. Finally, the price was the best I found."
