"I recently bought a foreclosed home and was not sure of the condition of the heating and air conditioning unit. So I called Gallaghers Plumbing Heating and Air to see if they could check the heating unit out. Gallaghers was more than happy to come and look at the unit and they seemed genuinely happy to have spoken to me. I made the appointment for them to come out for the next morning. Right on time the next morning they showed up. After looking at the heater, the technician told me that I had a couple of leaks in one of the lines coming from the heater. The line that had the leaks would allow carbon monoxide to leak into my house. The technician informed me that I would need a new heater. My heater was installed the very next day. All of the technicians were very friendly and professional. I am very happy to be a customer of a company that is quick to respond to a potentially dangerous situation.

"We were extremely pleased with the service provided to us by Bob's Air Repair and their technician Luke T. The heating in our HVAC system was failing to launch when turned on, although it made noises of an attempt to do so. From the time we placed the service request to Luke's arrival everything was handled in a efficient & professional manner."

"Actually Emberâ s heating and air was really the best option with unbeatable prices. I wasnâ t even sure if I could afford the mini-split system after the first quote I received. Thank goodness I found Emberâ s Heating and Air. They are a new company company and they believe other companies are oftentimes overcharging. Compared to how much I saved thatâ s an understatement. Rob and Chuck were able to come up with a design for our mini-split system that worked out even better then I imagined. Itâ s quiet and makes life better all the way around. Our electric bill is already noticeably cheaper as well! Mini-splits are the future I believe. My wife and I both feel like we live in a new place and have peace of mind knowing that our baby girl will be able to spend her first summer living in a cool conditioned space. I hope that everyone finds out about Emberâ s and that there company grows like a wildfire. Iâ m telling everyone about your company. Thank you so much!"

"Professional and efficient. The technician Jacob knowledge was impressive. My mother passed away on July 15th and on the 17th, Jacob came out and fulfilled her last request. I would hire them again for my air conditioning needs. If I could I would give Jacob a raise!"

Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.
Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.
Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.
Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.
Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
