"In January when my furnace started wheezing, moaning and groaning, I knew we had a problem. After researching on Angie's List, I called Sila. They came the next day, Jan. 23. Brian and Ivan couldn't have been nicer or more professional, right down to donning booties each time they emerged from the basement or from outside. After they looked all over, they recommended replacing all components the system: heating, air-conditioning, hot water heater and some duct work. My husband was out of the country, so I asked enough questions for both of us. Brian and Ivan answered all my questions thoroughly, showing me how corroded duct work in our 100-year old house had made the furnace work harder and partially blocked airflow. Inserting a camera inside of the furnace, they also showed me the dangerous corrosion which could have released carbon monoxide into the house. Our old furnace had been replaced 15 years ago and it was clear that its motor was failing and its useful life was done. The water heater was not quite as old, but had not much left in life expectancy either. The air-conditioning unit had been installed, incorrectly under the deck, also 15 years ago, so it was nearing its life expectancy also. So we decided to replace everything with some new ductwork drawing air in and venting it directly from outside instead of replacing the old corroded duct work leading to a chimney flue. A Sila crew arrived early the next day and completed the work by late afternoon. A few days later, an inspector from Sila came and went over the whole system carefully to make sure all had been done properly. Everything is running very well and our forced hot air heating (now quieter) and air conditioning is now more energy efficient. An added bonus is that our house no longer smells like the old basement. I highly recommend this company!"
