"When my air conditioning stopped working, I first contacted a different HVAC company and the technician made the assessment that the compressor was shot and in need of replacement. They recommended the option of going with a completely new AC unit. I decided to get a second opinion from Shavitz (having seen their sticker on some of the AC units in my building). Cornelius from Shavitz confirmed the initial diagnosis and the estimates that the project manager, Lou, subsequently quoted me were very much in line with what I received from the other company. About $200 more for a comparable AC model, but given what I read about the level of quality Shavitz brings, I decided to go forward with using Shavitz to perform the replacement of my air conditioner. Scheduling the appointment with Chris was a breeze. The day the work was scheduled to be performed, the installation team, Mike D and Mario, arrived exactly on time and quickly got to work. They were professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about what they were doing. I especially appreciated how thorough they were in the installation and testing of the system. The AC units are on the rooftop of the condo building so there is a long distance between the AC unit and the furnace/AC coil in my condo. Because of this, it took a bit of time to flush the lines, fill with the refrigerant, and test it to make sure it was working as expected. Being a hot day and a Friday, it would have been easy for them to test it to a point where it was “good enough”. Due to the thoroughness of their testing they found an issue in the lines that they were able to fix. While this added time to an already long day, they explained to me what they were doing and the importance of it. All in all, I was very impressed with Mike and Mario’s level of skill and pride they have in their craft. I will absolutely be using Shavitz exclusively going forward for my air conditioning and heating work, and highly recommend them."

"Home Comfort Systems replaced my old air conditioner with a new American Standard air conditioner. The day it was going to be installed, one of the owners, Steve, stopped by to look at the old air conditioner, and explain what was going to be done. The installers arrived an hour later, explained to me exactly what they were going to do, and all the specs of the new air conditioner. Roughly 2 hours later, they were finished. They explained the warranty, and cleaned up. The only evidence that they were there was the new air conditioner, no debris left behind. They were very professional, and I would gladly use them again!"

"Jim, Roger, and Joe designed and installed a new furnace and duct work system for our 100 year old home. The ductwork that was in place was from the old coal furnace which had the supplies on the interior and returns on the exterior walls. Jim and Roger needed to redesign the entire system to make it function properly. Jim was very professional, communicative, knowledgeable, and timely with the pricing and installation of the entire job. The price was competitive with other quotes we received, and he assembled his team to begin the work very quickly. The job itself went smoothly with no issues. They were all a joy to work with and really went above and beyond to be sure we were happy with the project. After the project was complete, Jim even came back a few weeks later to be sure the air flow from each duct was accurate with the AC running (it was still too cool outside when the project was completed to run the AC). Best of all, our home is now comfortable for the first time in the 18 years we've lived here. It heats and cools quickly and efficiently, with no hot or cold spots like before. "I have lived in my home for over 23 years and have used several different Heating and Air companies thru the years... I needed service in Sept 2018 and had various coupon prices of $39 and $49 for an A/C tune up and was about to chose on of them but decided to check Angie's list for a review or google for the coupon companies. That is when I found American Family HVAC and started to read their reviews.. For some reason, I decided to use this company even tho the cost was a bit more money and boy am I ever happy that I went with my hunch. Sometimes it is NOT always about the money. I was really looking for an A/C furnace company that I could count on and use regularly. Not only was the repair gentleman that came out, on time and very thorough and professional but he spent a long time and I feel that I received the most thorough tune up that I have ever had. Josh, the service tech was just a delight and the best part was that this company has a membership contract that I was able to purchase. It is a small monthly charge monthly and . I get 2 free tune-ups a year included in the monthly fee for NO charge and if I need any service work I get 20% off of the charge and same day service...all for only $12.95 a month. What a wonderful idea and I cannot express how happy I am with this choice. It is a win-win deal for me and the company. I am a very happy camper with my choice of this company."
