I contacted "Shamrock Chimney" and scheduled an appointment with their lead technician "Tony". He suggested a less costly and safer alternative (steel liner and a resealing of the outer brickwork. The work was performed over a two-day period. I am fully satisfied with the results. One thing I really apricate is the communication during the project. The "front office" would let me know by either phone or email when the project would start, and then Tony and would give me updates. All and all the whole process went smoothly. I needed Joe and his son Tony on two occasions over the past two months.  Each time, I was met with friendly, on time service and very fair pricing.  Joe is very conscientious about doing a good job, and I like the chemistry he and his son have.  They work well together, fast and efficient.

Joe takes great pride in his work.  Of course, I'm in a rush to get things done, but after a particularly rainy weekend, Joe completed half my job one day and recommended that I wait two more days to let the bricks dry out as the humidity and moisture in the bricks were making the job look presentable but not right.  Joe wanted to do it right, which I respect.

"Charles Locklear was very professional and was willing to work around my schedule as required. I'm building my house out of pocket and trying to keep cost down as much as possible. I did buy all materials for the project and Charles Locklear provided all the labor. My first quote from another masonry was around $16,000 for all materials and labor. I saved over $10,000 by doing most of the work myself and buying the materials. The footing for the foundation did not cost anything because the cement company had 25 yards of cement that needed to be dumped. The only problem was the cement set up very fast and I did not have the time to get enough people to help spread the cement. So the footing was not level. Charles had to first level the lower block before coming up with the wall. He never complained and the job was completed over the week-end. The only negative comment I had to say about Charles Locklear is that his equipment (cement mixer) needed repair during the job. But it was fixed immediately and lost very little time."
