"Excellent, excellent, excellent! Rigo was outstanding. First, he came and looked at the job and later took some brick samples to match them with bricks that he would buy for the job. He found bricks that matched almost perfectly after going to several places (above and beyond the call!). Then, he noticed that some of my railing was rotting away, so I asked him if he knew someone to come and fix that before he fixed the bricks. He did and that contractor also did an excellent job! Rigo then came and fixed the bricks and did an excellent job. Thank goodness that he noticed the rotting railing; otherwise, I would have had to redo the bricks because the railing was bad. The whole job worked out well and he was the lowest bidder! I highly, highly recommend him for your job!"

"Mottern did a fantastic job designing and installing a large flagstone-on-concrete patio for us. The work included excavating and leveling the site, pouring and re-enforcing the slab, and selecting and purchasing the stone, brick and other materials. In addition to the patio, Mottern also filled in an approx. 12 sq/ft section of brick wall where a door had been converted to a window. The filled-in brick and mortar matches the original 50-year old wall perfectly. Overall, the entire Mottern crew was prompt, responsive, professional, and very skillful. We would definitely use Mottern again."

"Johnny and the crew magically found me a time slot when someone else kept postponing,and offered a very reasonable price for the work of rebuilding a terribly uneven brick walkway and patio that had deteriorated over 30 years. Their work was painstakingly careful and clean, and even though it took longer and was harder than they expected, they never asked for an increase in price. Watching how carefully the guys washed brick by brick to make them clean enough to reuse and save money was astounding. Their custom cuts were accurate and many. "Wow!!! This was not an easy project to describe and bid, largely because what we were trying to accomplish is quite unique. The property had a tricky change of elevation and undulation, and as far as materials, we wanted to blend the stone into an already existing stone garden design already on the property and adjacent to the to be installed fence. We wanted carderock stone that was identical in size and color pattern to what we had already - this is not as easy as simply going to the same quarry, which First Impressions gladly did. It is really a job that requires great skill and attention to detail to match the new wall perfectly, which they did. From start to finish, there were no issues. I was most impressed with four things - 1) the finished product, which completely blew us away, 2) the professionalism and integrity of the entire crew - from Mike the very thoughtful designer and primary point of contact who figured out how to make our vision work on the property (he brought a few very good suggested changes as well), to John the onsite project manager, to the stone layers, the wood workers and the lighting installers - they each wanted to make the customer happy, and obviously took great pride in their work, 3) the price, which was around 10 percent less than two other real bids, and 4) the reasonable time to completion, clean/tidy work site, and respectfulness toward our neighbors throughout the few week project. For us, this was our first sizable home project - Mike and John made use very comfortable throughout that our personal investment in our property was being taken very seriously by each of them - we felt that they wanted it to look even better than we did, which is a great feeling. When you get a better product than you could have imagined, that is hassle free and reasonably priced, it is tough not to be happy with the experience. I have nothing but positive impressions of First Impressions, and would very happily work with them again.

"The repointing work was generally done well. Old mortar and bricks were removed and new bricks were installed. The craftsmanship was excellent. However, the color of the mortar used differed from that in the rest of the brickwork, so at present it stands out. Sixpenny said to wait a period and then re-evaluate whether any change should be made. I would rate this as an "A" but for the color difference in the mortar that was not expected. The chimney cap work was done well."

"Horizon Landscaping was outstanding. We needed to have brick and concrete removed and replaced with regular pavers. Horizon also made some repair to the base of a brick wall. I am very pleased with the final result. It was easy to get a quote, an initial contract and schedule the work. The team was punctual and performed the work quickly without any challenges. "Mr. Minor (Melvin) came to our home and did an excellent job removing all of the grass from the area between our stone patio pavers, and then he proceeded to fill in those cracks with a sealant to prevent any further growth of grass & weeds in the patio area. He also applied a protective coating over the patio. He arrived on time and worked efficiently. The patio looks great now--better than new! We are definitely pleased with his work.
