Comment: We had part of our lower kitchen cabinetry removed due to water damage. We have had a few contractors look at the rebuild but both want to remove the granite and the sink. If they do remove the granite, we have been told that there is a high probability that it would crack around the 60/40 sink area when removed. Since granite cannot be matched, then the entire kitchen’s granite would need to be removed and replaced. If just the sink is removed, then we would need to try and find a sink that matches the shape of the granite.
So…we are looking for someone to rebuild the cabinet structure back in place without having to remove the granite and sink. We saved the 4 cabinet faces, 1 drawer and 2 decorative face plates.
The most important aspect to this job is the carpentry/cabinet rebuilding. There are other items listed below that are needed to finish the kitchen, but we can contract out to others like the drywalling, electrical or anything else that is needed if this cannot be handled.
Other items that are needed for the kitchen rebuild: Reinstall the dishwasher (new, delivery Friday, 6/16), reinstall garbage disposal and rework drain plumbing as needed, add insulation & drywall back in, fix a small cut into the granite, stain cabinet structure to match current kitchen stain, install electrical outlet for dishwasher (not sure if it is needed, it was hard wired before), redo bead between backsplash and granite and replace 8 cabinet hinges.
