"We had sinking concrete both in our sidewalk and driveway panel next to the garage apron. We hired Baird to do the repairs, including also sealing all of the driveway expansion joints. The results of this job exceeded our expectations and couldn't have asked for anything better. The team was very personable, professional and were happy to explain and demonstrate every step of the way. Highly recommend Baird."

"Would highly recommend this company for any construction project you need done.Randy and his crew Willie, Hondo and Danny built a screened in porch for us. All we had was a concrete slab and they framed, roofed, ran elec, screened, installed doors and painted. We couldn t be happier with the quality and results. After contacting them thru Home Advisor Randy quickly responded with a call, visit and estimate. They were on the job within a matter of days and worked late into the evening every day. Work was great quality and completed on schedule including a couple of remodel projects inside the house. Hard workers, reliable, honest, polite, know what they are doing and have fun while they are doing it. Nice people. Thanks to them my wife now has a beautiful back porch she shed."

"Lawn Pros did an outstanding job on my sod installation. The quality of sod was excellent. From the first call, to the completion of the job. Lawn Pros delivered on their word. They were always available to answer any questions along the way. I will not hesitate to call Lawn Pros for any future landscaping needs."
Laying down squares of Floratam St. Augustine. Laying the squares is easy. Notice the prep work. There used to be weed infested grass in that area. Tilling is a lost art but Lawn Pros still uses this method before sod installs.

FAQs for concrete work projects in Aransas Pass, TX

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
