"John, Lori, and their crew of workers showed the utmost courtesy and consideration when planning and doing the job. They made sure to ask me important questions before going forward. The skilled laborers led by John and Kenny did a very thorough and detailed job when prepping and paving the concrete. They cleaned up the area well when they were finished also. They are definitely a professional concrete company and I would use them again in the future."

"Everything went very smooth. The project started on time and proceeded according to the schedule. All the work was done exactly to the quote. I was very happy working with Sean and his team. I was very particular about the grade for proper water drainage and they did a great job. It’s nice to work with a contractor that does what they say. I would highly recommend Sean’s company to anyone looking for concrete work."

"John and his crew were amazing! They arrived each morning on time and worked efficiently all day, removing asphalt and the original concrete drive underneath. All prep work was done the same day and concrete was poured the following day. All of his crew were courteous and professional. The cleanup each day was excellent. John was very responsive to my email inquiries. We highly recommend Cemex Construction!"

"Review: Nick and his crew were totally professional. Nick always kept in touch so we knew when he was going to be able to prepare our patio and when they would be able to pour the concrete. We were so pleased that he could fit us in on our tight schedule. We actually had another quote that would have been lower priced but decided to go with Marrco Concrete for both their quality work and on-time performance. We are so glad we did! Our new patio and the sidewalk that wraps around the garage are the perfect addition to our new home. It was well worth the money and we can't wait to have outdoor picnics on it."

"I wasnâ t sure if I needed porch repair or new porch. William gave me a couple of options and I went with new porch and a section of new concrete for my walk way. William was very professional. He made sure to explained everything and asked it I had any questions or concerns. He also kept me updated with the project which I really appreciated. The porch came out beautifully!"

FAQs for concrete work projects in Cleveland, OH

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
