"Not really a "brick, stone or block wall - install" but it's the closest I could get with the list. Ripped out 30+ year old brick island at the front of our subdivision, installed a new concrete version & filled with topsoil. The job came in at or under the price quoted & we are very happy with it. I was very impressed with Adrian in regard to his work ethic, desire to please a customer, knowledge, scheduling & ability to get the work done."

"We had a fantastic experience with RG Pack Concrete! Ryan, the owner, was professional, communicative, and clearly committed to delivering a quality product. He and his team installed a stamped concrete patio for us, and the attention to detail throughout the entire process was outstanding. I could tell they take a lot of pride in their work the, craftsmanship speaks for itself. The patio turned out even better than we imagined. If you’re looking for top notch concrete work from a company that truly values quality, we highly recommend RG Pack Concrete!"

"I submitted a request for a concrete pad through Angi’s list. Within a few minutes, Raoul Ramo, owner of Ramos Concrete, contacted me with his interest in providing an estimate. We met the following day. His estimate was the best and I asked him to do the job. I gave him a deadline for having the job done. He, along with two of his employees, completed the job two weeks before the deadline. I am very happy with the job and would definitely hire him again for future concrete projects."

"After a really frustrating experience with another contractor who took our deposit and disappeared for two weeks without doing any work, we were honestly stressed and unsure who to trust next. I found LEA Concrete LLC this morning, reached out, and within hours they were already on-site. Not only did they show up the same day—they completed the entire job that afternoon. The difference in professionalism was night and day. They communicated clearly, showed up when they said they would, and delivered clean, high-quality work with zero delays. If you’re looking for a reliable, responsive, and professional concrete company, I highly recommend LEA Concrete LLC. They truly stepped up when we needed it most."

"Taylor Concrete did an awesome job. The time he spent with us to give the quote is what helped us make our choice to use them. He asked what we wanted and what ideas we had. He provided feedback on what he thought would or wouldn’t be best. We changed our minds 2 times on the size of the patio and parking pad. We even changed it again the day he came to start the site prep and he was great about it all. I recommend you give them a chance to at least meet you and provide a quote."

"Aldo and his team at Castillo Concrete were terrific. Very professional and prompt with their service. Our driveway (over 2700 square ft) needed to be completely replaced. They started on a Tuesday, and by Thursday the job was virtually finished. I would highly recommend their services."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Raleigh, NC

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
