"Joe is a very honest and upfront guy. They came on time to do the job on my garage floor and it came out great! His price was very fair also. I have no problem recommending him for this type of work."

"John, Tom, and their crew were great. They paved my driveway from start to finish in 6 hours. They trimmed all the driveway edges and made the lines perfect. They also fixed the concrete stairs leading into the house from the driveway. John, Tom, and one of their crew members handled all my questions and concerns. Their price was fantastic. John is a bit of a fast talker but he is honest and intricately knows his craft."

"Way exceeded my expectations! Ryan listened and understood our vision better than any other contractors we quoted. His brother and the crew were very professional, quick and neat. They removed my old concrete slab and replaced with paving in less than 3 days. This was a big and complex job! Their attention to detail surprised everyone in our family. I would give a 6 stars if I could! Already recommended to all my friends."

"Classical Pavers did a beautiful job replacing my front walkway! It was not a straightforward project because it was built on a steep slope with a curve. The owner Thiago, who oversees the project, was a pleasure to work with -- never used any pressure tactics, was very responsive to any questions, and gave a fair price. The two craftsmen who did the work were amazing! They arrived promptly every day, worked extremely hard, and did absolutely beautiful work. They hauled away all the old materials and tidied everything up when the job was done. We definitely would hire them again for a future project and highly recommend them."

"We hired them for a back stairs demo and new install. Aldo was amazing! He worked really hard, was meticulous, documented every step of the project. We are so happy with the final steps that we hired him to repair our concrete foundation. He did an amazing job with that too. All our future masonry work will go to this contractor. Thanks for the peace of mind."

"This is a review of the *experience* we had with Quality. We had the basement waterproofed, so we won't really know how good the job is until a big rainstorm! So this is just the experience we had before and during the job. We reached out to Quality based on the Angie's List reviews, and were convinced by the visit from Greg. He was so knowledgeable about the water problems, and pointed out the years of experience the company has. Also, we weren't looking for a bargain, we were looking for a dry basement, and Greg was very straightforward about all the costs. Now we haven't had a rainstorm yet, so we still don't know the most important thing about the job! But Victor and his crew were fantastic. They knew what they were supposed to do when they got here, and did the whole job-- as quietly as possible-- in less than 4 hours. They were pleasant to have in the house. They left the place clean. So big thanks to all at Quality. P S: Will update when there's a big rainstorm."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
