"Hired Awesome Concrete to remove an old asphalt driveway and replace with 4" concrete with rebar. William was very professional to work with and gave good suggestions. His bid was competitive and the crew showed up when scheduled, worked well together and did a great job. Would definitely recommend their services. We applied Dayton Cure & Seal 25% J22UV early the next morning and it has a nice wet look."

"Almighty Building did a great job! They removed half of our back deck and poured in a concrete patio. The work was actually completed much faster than I thought it would which was great, and also looked fantastic. I will be hiring for future projects and would definitely recommend."

"Seven Iron Concrete has done some beautiful work here at my house. They are the only concrete company that I will use anymore. They have done some sidewalks for us that were stamped and they turned out so great. We love the way everything looks. They have also done a patio for us and a huge concrete slab for us to place a giant pool on. They always do great work and we love it when they are here at our home working on various projects!"

"Greg and his sons did a great job to build our concrete sidewalk. He listened to what we wanted and built it to match our existing patio and driveway concrete. Greg suggested a concrete ramp instead of steps so we went with that idea and it looks great!"

"Tasi was great to work with. He made demolishing a sidewalk seem easy and offered to haul some landscape debris along with the concrete to the dump. Communication was a bit iffy at first due to technology.. I sent an email, he responded via trip advisor, i texted... you see where this is going. In the end the work got done on schedule and on budget. :)"

"We recently expanded a deck, added a patio cover, and are putting a hot tub underneath this second floor deck. There was a concrete patio below the existing deck and we wanted to match that, w/ reinforcement for a hot tub. We got a couple bids for the job. Danny was the estimator that came out for Forest and he seemed knowledgeable and was punctual and professional. It was not the cheapest bid, but the company is much more well established than a couple others we consulted so I put more trust in their work. Rigo is the guy we needed to work with on scheduling etc. for concrete work. This was a little rocky at first, but that had a lot to do with us needing to postpone the start till our deck was done, but then also work around a vacation we'd be taking, and make sure the concrete had enough time to cure before our hot tub is dropped. Despite a slight language barrier, we worked it out and even managed to get it done ahead of when we originally scheduled it. Punctuality is impressive with these guys. For 3 days they were waiting outside our house to start at 7:30am precisely. They had to remove a portion of fence and work around some foliage for access. They ended up encountering an unexpected drainage tube of some kind while digging and made sure to create an access point for us if it's ever needed in the future. The concrete looks great and matches our old patio so well, it's hard to tell they weren't poured together. Danny and I (and later Rigo) discussed treating the old concrete to help the matching. At the end of the work they did a great job of cleaning up the area and returning everything to normal. Rigo also helped us by showing us how to remove the fence portion for when our hot tub is delivered and left the top cap off because he said we'd really struggle to get it off if they put it back. I'm happy with the work, communication, and cleanup and trust if there are any problems I will be able to get them resolved. If we have further landscape needs in the future I will def be calling Forest for a bid."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Battle Ground, WA

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
