"Omar and Maria have done two jobs for us now, and their work and their integrity are excellent. They first repaired cracks in our brick walls and replaced broken bricks and mortar. The results are beautiful. The second project was cleaning the concrete stairs to our front entry which had gotten dingy over time due to fallen leaves. They worked diligently to clean all stains, even coming back more than once to complete the job to their standard of excellence. The next project we are planning with them is building brick entry walls leading to our front door. Whether the project is large or small, their commitment to excellence is the same. I highly recommend Constructo and Omar and Maria Franco!"

Small jobs welcome

"Lewis and Son Concrete responded quickly to the referral through Angi. They assessed the job and provided a cost estimate. The job involved tearing out and replacing a portion of driveway due to a water leak. The work was done in a timely manner, with precision and careful attention to details. Tim Lewis is knowledgeable and his expertise was appreciated as he planned and completed our project. We definitely recommend Lewis and Son Concrete and will use them again for jobs involving concrete and brick work."

"I hired Midwest Retaining Wall INC to tear out an existing railroad tie wall that measured over 7' tall and 185' long. They replaced the old wall with limestone boulders. The new wall looks and performs great! The owner runs a tight ship with an excellent crew of men. They're very knowledgeable, clean cut, always on time, with a noticeable work ethic. The estimated job competition date was 2 days early and the finished product looks amazing! This is the second time in 15 years that I've used Mr. Ramsey to install large retaining walls and each time exceeded my expectations! I would recommend Midwest Retaining Wall to anyone."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Broken Arrow, OK

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
