"This was such a pleasant experience working with Legacy Concrete! They had a great price, this was one of the most respectful crew of guys I have ever had work at my house and the patio turned out even BETTER than I imagined! Whenever people come over they comment on the quality of our concrete patio. Amazing! Thank you Legacy! 5 stars! Can I do 10 stars actually? :)"

"I was so grateful to get sound advice about what to do about getting my concrete patio level so I could get a deck installed over a slab that didn't slope toward the house. With that said, the unforeseen extra slab and void caused a problem that contributed to more than the slab being lifted. I am glad this company stands by its finished product and made sure all was corrected before this project was completed."

"Installed upgraded artificial turf in front yard. Process was smooth and timing was very accommodating. The crew was very professional, careful, communicative, flexible, efficient and cleanup well done. They worked without stopping, finishing the job in one day. The next day, the team manager inspected the finished job and provided ongoing maintenance guidance. A very good experience."

"The project was a 25’ sidewalk alongside my house and resetting a gate post and the four posts of a grape arbor. We got four estimates and chose RP Concrete. Rafael helped design the walkway, which needed to go from 4’ wide to 3’ wide, and asked me to approve the layout before he poured the concrete. He and his crew also removed the 18’ long, 8’ high grape arbor and reset the four posts without disturbing or damaging the attached grape vines. I didn’t think that could be done. We’re very happy with his work. The sidewalk looks great. The arbor is fixed and stronger than before. The gate post is no longer leaning. RP Concrete worked quickly and at a fair price. Rafael is genuinely a nice guy, too. I would definitely recommend RP Concrete."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
