Customers say: Quick response
"The concrete work was done very well and I am very happy with the results. However there was a bit of trash just left behind such as half empty water bottles and wrappers. They also left my hoses strewn about the yard and left the water on. Aside from those issues, the overall experience was positive and I would recommend R & D concrete to others"

"Austin was great to work with. He is passionate about his company and serving his clients well. His communication was great during the project and his team knocked out our job within a couple days. They were clean, prompt, and efficient. He will be my go-to concrete guy. I actually already sent his info to some friends looking for similar work."

"These guys are great! Their prices are competitive with most others. The work they do IS top notch. They keep the area clean during and afterwards. They did a walk way out to a fire pit for us with a sitting wall. Looks really good!!! I highly recommend this company"

"They did a good job but they messed up my iron gate. When they poured the concrete they let the concrete set without keeping the base of the iron gate in line with the rest of the iron work. Now my gate is twisted and we'll out of plumb. I showed it to the company rep but he did not come back and fix it."

"We needed our driveway and sidewalk raised using injection technology. Brandon and his Settled Concrete Restoration crew were knowledgeable, competent, courteous, and professional. The price was right, and their work was excellent. I would use Settled Concrete Restoration again, without reservations. We have recommended SCR to neighbors and family."

"BSB Concrete & Landscaping was recommended to me by a friend so I hired them to install a 1500sqft concrete driveway with road base rebar and 4? concrete. The crew arrived early each day and completed the project within the timeline I requested. My wife and I are very pleased with the outcome of our new driveway and I will be recommending this company to my friends and family as well."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
