"Nick Scotti & his crew replaced our asphalt driveway this summer with beautiful exposed aggregate and stamped concrete. We can say he treated this project as if it were HIS own home. This was a really big job and we liked Nick's approach to the project. He made recommendations about the retaining wall and how we would address the porch, steps and sidewalks. He worked with us for the best possible outcome and we think the attached photos say it best! The crew was great too and we would highly recommend Nick Scotti!"

"They did an excellent job on both the steps and the wall. This job was done on a rental property that I own and they came out and removed the old steps and wall and replaced will all new concrete. The steps were done to my request and even included a side wall. My tenants are thrilled with their new steps and wall. all my tenants and neighbors have told me what a nice job that they did on them. Professional company that really helped me out by fitting me into their schedule during the busiest time of the year. I will definitely call them on my next project."

"Lou and his crew were great. Knowledgeable, easy to work with and quality. Lou came out measured everything up and gave me a quote over the phone later that day. Got me in the schedule and we coordinated around his other projects. Removed old asphalt driveway and installed new concrete slab in 3 days. Would hire Goodfellas again and recommend."

"Skimped on quality of retaining wall, not burying one layer of block in some sections. As a result, There are five gaps in the versilock wall on the bottom. I have reached out to him for 6 months to deal with this issue and have been met with delays and no response.
Was rushed in pouring concrete. Some areas are not to code, i.e., proper depth. Corner of pour cracked two months after completion in December 2014. Contacted him immediately to have it corrected in the spring of 2015. Once again, was met with delays, excuses and the last two months no response.
I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

"I had a 50 x 3 ft fallen retaining wall in my backyard which has no road access. Joe was a pleasure to deal with from the quote through completing the job. He recommended a concrete wall instead of blocks due to the access issue. It was still a massive amount of work but Joe and his colleague were extremely efficient. The new wall looks great and they left my yard and property in pristine condition. Would recommend and would definitely hire again."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Glenshaw, PA

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
