"This was such a pleasant experience working with Legacy Concrete! They had a great price, this was one of the most respectful crew of guys I have ever had work at my house and the patio turned out even BETTER than I imagined! Whenever people come over they comment on the quality of our concrete patio. Amazing! Thank you Legacy! 5 stars! Can I do 10 stars actually? :)"

"I was so grateful to get sound advice about what to do about getting my concrete patio level so I could get a deck installed over a slab that didn't slope toward the house. With that said, the unforeseen extra slab and void caused a problem that contributed to more than the slab being lifted. I am glad this company stands by its finished product and made sure all was corrected before this project was completed."

"Jon is a great guy, took care of all my leaks in the basement. I have a 125 year old home so it was not easy finfinh and filling all the leaks. But he found everything and built some great shelving as well. Wish all contractors were this great to work with!!"

"I am very pleased with the quality of work performed by LMC, Inc. We moved into our house three years ago. The driveway had been replaced one year before we moved in and had badly deteriorated. When Alex inspected our driveway, he explained the options available to us, along with the reasonable expectations for each option. Alex was responsive in responding to my questions and when they came onsite and started the work, he was careful in removing the old driveway to minimize any damage to the surrounding grounds - a tough job in any demolition. When he and his crew started laying the new driveway, we were impressed with attentiveness to detail in preparing and finishing the cement. The finished driveway, compared to the old one, has a much better appearance. The crew did a good job cleaning up after completing the project and it was done in a timely manner, delayed only by a thunderstorm. Based on the courtesy of Alex and his crew, and the quality of work I have observed, LMC will be the first company I contact if I need similar work."

"We are thrilled with our new yard! Daniel and Jaime were very easy to work with and communicative. Their team was always friendly. We did all new sod, tree removals, new concrete walkways, new rock bedsâ ¦a totally new yard and it looks amazing. They also set up a new pergola for us and built custom plant boxes. The price was reasonable and fair. We will definitely hire them again in the future."

"Jose and his employees were great to work with. I got 2 bids on my job. The first was done via phone with pictures. The price was very reasonable. The second was from Jose, who showed up at my home and assessed the situation. The cost was higher but I think the first bidder, when he got to my home would have seen the problems associated with the job and raised his bid. Either that or the quality would have been a great deal below what I received from Cardenas Concrete. In addition, Jose suggested that I contact the plumbing company that caused one of the problems associated with the project. I did and that company corrected that problem at zero cost. I am a big believer that you get what you pay. In this case, a high quality concrete installation with which I am 100% satisfied and for which I give Cardenas Concrete and Jose Cardenas my highest recommendation."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
