Customers say: True professional

"Professional, high quality, lots of options, and experts. I was very impressed with this company and they did great work installing my back yard patio. Loved working with Justin Bennett. Great job cleaning up and installing solid handrail on cement steps. Fair price. They poured and stamped my new patio."

"I can't say enough about my experience with Peak Structural! Tim, Spenser, Kato, Aren, & DJ were incredible! They showed up on time each day, were considerate of my living space, exercised care to reduce dust, were reliable & simply did fabulous work! Tim also worked diligently to communicate with the home office to make adjustments on my invoice for work that turned out not to be needed. I am so grateful to have the confidence that I won't have water issues in my basement anymore! I would definitely recommend & would use Peak Structural again."

"I got this company's name thru Angie's list. Local Topeka businesses unfortunately did not respond to my calls. But I consider myself very fortunate, that Randy not only responded immediately, he was able to match the brick that had deteriorated on my porch, he was able to perform the work in outstanding and timely manner. I am more than happy with this company! Btw I still have not heard from the local businesses, their loss, my gain!"

"Big shout out to Dil and Cruise for doing a splendid job . They were very courteous, patient enough to listen to my concerns and very friendly. The Job was to lift the concrete and seal the joint and cracks . Time will tell how well the seal will hold especially with colorodo weather but so far happy the result. Thank you Trasher."

"Modern Foam Solutions LLC (Maeson Larkin) seemed knowledgeable about garage floor jacking with his poly foam system. He explained what he was doing as I asked questions. He cleaned the debris up and seales the cracks with concrete caulking."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Lamont, KS

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
