"At first, I thought his bid was a somewhat high, but he and his crew earned every bit of it. They arrived earlier than agreed (I was already prepared and waiting), they were very professional, knew what needed to be done, and got right down to business. His two young workers required very little instruction, always looking to see what needed to be done, and did it - no wasting work time on cell phones! After the pour, they cleaned all the tools, cleared away debris, and inspected my house walls as well as my wood fence for spatter, cleaning off what they found (which was very minimal). They did an excellent job! If I ever need more concrete work, this is the contractor I will call."

"I was so grateful to get sound advice about what to do about getting my concrete patio level so I could get a deck installed over a slab that didn't slope toward the house. With that said, the unforeseen extra slab and void caused a problem that contributed to more than the slab being lifted. I am glad this company stands by its finished product and made sure all was corrected before this project was completed."

Customers say: Quick response

"Although their bid was substantially higher than another contractor, Orvin's detailed explanation of the work and materials and procedures instilled confidence in me so I hired them. We are 100% satisfied with the results. They removed our existing driveway and brick pillars and vinyl fencing and then prepared the surface area. They used 1/2 inch rebar vs a wire mesh for added strength and durability. Holes were drilled into our remaining driveway so the rebar could be inserted and tie it into the new concrete. The whole final project looks great with perfect alignment to the existing driveway and proper slope for water drainage. Turned out to be a bigger project than I imagined and took all of four days to complete. So, to us that made the higher cost worthwhile. Also, and this is a big deal with me, Orvin shows up on time, cleans up, and responds to email/text/ phone calls promptly. That alone separates him from about 90% of all contractors that fail in that simple business essential, imo."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Loveland, CO

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
