"Excellent job on the steps and patio! Gerardo informed me of all steps/timeline in advance. Staff was courteous and careful of surrounding gardens and grass when working. I am extremely satisfied and would hire again and/or recommend G's Concrete."

"I had some concrete work done a couple years ago, replacing the entire length of sidewalk in front of my house including the cover over the water main, the driveway, and some front walkway. The concrete still looks good and these guys did it right."

"This job went great. Mani was very responsive - in fact, he was the only concrete contractor I was able to talk to on the phone. And not only did we get to have a conversation right then and there, but he wanted to know the details of the job and gave me an approximate estimate over the phone. (I did have another contractor call me back about 5 days later, but by then I had booked Mani for the work). The job was to fill in a 4' x 8' hole we had cut out of our basement concrete slab due to a heating oil spill that was there when we bought the house - and the oil had seeped through the concrete into the dirt below, so we cut the slab and dug out the contaminated media (and had it appropriately disposed of). Then Mani did the concrete restoration work. Mani and his crew of 2 showed up on time, they were efficient and respectful of our house, and I couldn't have been happier. The concrete is setting up nicely and looks to be a very good pour. I would hire again, definitely."

"Liberty Concrete was great to work with. All the employees were friendly and professional. They had suggestions to make the project even better than we had designed it and did a beautiful job."

"After researching all the different contractors from Angi, I finally got down to HandShake Quality Construction. Jimmy showed up earlier than my scheduled estimate day and we talked about my plans on the concrete project for my backyard. I requested for references and Rene didn’t hesitate to give me. Everything was checked out and waiting for confirmation date to start, I guess they’re really busy I’ve to wait for a month and a half to finally get an actual date. In the end, everything works out perfectly especially the weather too. They finished as scheduled and it looked very good. I would not hesitate to hire them again for any additional projects. Thanks again Jimmy, Rene and the team for a job well done."

Small jobs welcome

"When choosing a general contractor, we were looking for someone to complete multiple jobs in a timely manner, with a solid work history and good reviews. Eric's Quality Building checked all our boxes. Eric provided a fair quote for both a concrete patio extension and a patio cover. Both of our projects were completed in a fast and efficient manner, with the quality of work and customer service provided being stellar. Eric is a younger guy, but he and his crew do a great job. I will use Eric for future projects, and I suggest you hire him for your next project big or small."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Oregon City, OR

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
