"

NW Concrete Cutting did an excellent job. They came out to my home promptly to bid the project. They cut precisely where we needed them to and they worked well to coordinate with our plumbers. Then they cleared all the concrete chunks out afterwards. The pricing was fair and we would definitely use them again.

"2 workers, pleasant manor, very professional, pride in performing a very perfectly leveled entrance. Concrete came up 2 inches on South side, and 2 inches at wood steps. We have carpenters adding Trex and handrails and excited to repaint the trim on the house."

"Excellent work from the first phone call to the completed project! We had Capital Concrete remove the old concrete from part of the driveway and pour new. Leo and his crew showed up on time and got to work. They worked all day and had the project done by 6 pm that evening. They were professional and cheerful. Leo didn't hesitate in answering our questions or explaining the process. They did a fabulous job at a reasonable price! We will hire them again, if we need other concrete work done."

"Joe's Yard Care (Joe) did a great efficient job which was difficult since the new PVC valve piping required precision measurements to fit into the existing setup. Joe gave me confidence in his abilities and finished up in just 2-hours. I definitely recommend him for any yard care you require. He does just about anything you can think of, concrete curbing, pavers, tree pruning, stump grinding, and many other improvements you can think of. Joe is a very personable & courteous person. A lot of contractors are not, but you feel relax in dealing with Joe and that's a big plus. He's a good man and I'm glad I found him."

"Tanner was awesome to work with! He was quick to respond to the initial project inquiry as well as follow up questions throughout the project. He provided a lot of information and options for our project, which was developing a very long driveway, and offered solutions to fit our budget. The agreed upon timeline was met and done quickly to mitigate the expected inconvenience of having an inaccessible road during the process. We are thankful for Tanner and all the hard work he put into our project, despite the 100 degree temps and smoky days. Would definitely recommend!"

FAQs for concrete work projects in Spokane Valley, WA

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
