"Mr. Castillo and his crew did an excellent job on each project we had for him to do. He laid a sidewalk from the driveway to the back patio. He added concrete to the sides of the driveway under the wooden carport for us to stabilize the carport and actually raised the carport since it was leaning away from the garage/workshop that it was attached to. He laid a 12X24 ft. slab for a storage building we are going to put up and also added concrete to the curve we make to enter the garage. On top of that, he used his bobcat to cut drainage pathways in the land so water doesn't stand on the patio anymore. He also took the excess dirt dug out for all of the concrete work done and leveled our low spots in the land for us. He did whatever we asked him to do. He and his crew stayed busy the entire time they were onsite. They also completed their work in quick fashion and at an affordable price. I will definitely use this company again and will refer this company to others needing concrete work done."

"Ernesto was fantastic to work with. He was very patient with us as we asked a million questions about different pool coatings and went back and forth between quartz and pebble. Ultimately, we decided on pebble. We also changed our coping to a beautiful travertine, updated the tile on our spa wall, and changed the fiber optic lights to led. The end result is beautiful. Itâ s like we have a brand new pool. I would use Rockwall Contractors again without hesitation and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, hardworking, professional contractor who knows what theyâ re doing when it comes to pools. We are so happy with our decision."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Terrell, TX

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
