"Legacy concrete and their crew did a great job. The only problem was a mistake on the bid that was found just before the job started. Robert worked very hard to work out a solution satisfactory to both parties and the job was finished on time. We are very happy with the results."

"Excellent concrete work, but they left black marks on the concrete next to where they worked and large black tire marks on my driveway. When I made Tony aware of the problem, he told me I could hose the marks off which didn t work. While their workmanship on the concrete work was impeccable, they left me with a problem to try and solve myself with little luck so far!"

"RP Concrete did a wonderful job on my driveway for a reasonable price. Raphael asked for my input, explained exactly what they planned to do and executed the plan to perfection. They took away the old broken concrete and put the grass back next to the slightly widened driveway area. It was an absolute pleasure working with RP Concrete. Hire them!"

"Manuel and his crew did a fantastic job for us. Not only were they very professional, experienced, hardworking and attending to details but also worked with me patiently and attentively. They were particularly good at approaching the project in the interest of the customer, They told you the pros and cons and price of any procedure and let you chose, which is hard to find nowadays. The more importantly, they provide the quality service with very reasonable price. For all these reasons, I was able to get a lot of concrete work done this time, which I had considering for years. My wife and I were so satisfied with the makeover in our yard that we decide to get our sons backyard done by Manuels team too."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
